New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
You've been a fool and so have I,
But come and be my wife,
And let us try before we die
To make some sense of life.
We're neither pure nor wise nor good;
We'll do the best we know.
We'll build our house, and chop our wood,
And make our garden grow.
OT, do you still post on the North Carolina page? I thought I could go over there and post, but I can't. We're still tryin' to find a beach house for the second week in August (starting 8/6).
I figgered some freepers might have connections.
There's a place for us,
Somewhere a place for us.
Peace and quiet and open air
Wait for us
Somewhere.
There's a time for us,
Some day a time for us,
Time together with time spare,
Time to learn, time to care,
Some day!
Gak! Did you see Woverine and Aretha Franklin sing that last night on the Tonys? It wuz bad.
And, though I suppose I shouldn't admit it, I even like "Brigadoon", which is admittedly lousy...
Getting to know you, getting to know all about you...
Yikes, what was they singin?
I know a dark secluded place.
A place where no one knows your face.
A glass of wine a fast embrace.
It's called Hernando's Hideaway ole!
All you see are silohuettes.
And all you hear are castanetts.
And no one cares how late it gets.
Not at Hernando's Hideaway ole!
They did a duet of "There's a Place for Us."
They should've just let Aretha sing it. But I guess since Hugh Jackman was hosting they thought he should sing too.
Before Jen and Rosie was born...
Eeeeee...wasn't that from "Pajama Game"?
I like that song...but the movie was painful.
Resisting urge to comment...
Ev'rythin's up to date in Kansas City
They've gone about as fur as they c'n go!
They went and built a skyscraper seven stories high,
About as high as a buildin' orta grow.
Ev'rythin's like a dream in Kansas City,
It's better than a magic lantern show!
Y' c'n turn the radiator on whenever you want some heat.
With ev'ry kind o' comfort ev'ry house is all complete.
You c'n walk to privies in the rain and never wet your feet!
They've gone about as fur as they c'n go,
(Yes sir!)
They've gone about as fur as they c'n go!
Heh...even off season, that was way more than we pay in season on the OBX.
Yup, I played in the pit orchestra for Pajama Game back in high school.
"Pajama Game" was pretty painful even on stage. But my first time on stage was in "Anything Goes" (Cole Porter). I played a sailor.
It was about a ship and "Reno Sweeney and her Fallen Angels." I had one line.
"You'll never get to heaven if you're not an angel." It was a setup line for a song called "The Heaven Hop."
I am not making this up.
[I win!!!]
You must remember this
A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh.
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by.
And when two lovers woo
They still say, "I love you."
On that you can rely
No matter what the future brings
As time goes by.
Moonlight and love songs
Never out of date.
Hearts full of passion
Jealousy and hate.
Woman needs man
And man must have his mate
That no one can deny.
It's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die.
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.
Oh yes, the world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.
I also played for Oklahoma and Bye Bye Birdie in high school, and did 1776 in college as a pro gig.
That's pretty flippin' cool. :-)
