The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Uh oh. I didn't mean to cause a chain reaction craving!
This apple isn't nearly as satisfying as the pineapple would have been, but I'll get some tomorrow.
Maybe a pina colada. Mmmm....

Here's thenuggets...
Their inside enclosure, actually in the screened-in porch...

Their outside "cooplet"...

While they were in the cooplet, I noticed there were little moth-like bugs flying around in there and they went nuts, actually chasing the things...I'm glad they show interest in them and the exercise is good for 'em!

When we were in Puerto Rico for a week in 1985, the hotel at which we stayed had fresh pineapple on the buffet for breakfast every morning. At first I wouldn't eat it because I was used to fresh pineapple irritating my mouth. I decided to try it and I'm glad I did. These were Costa Rican pineapples, and I never had a bit of trouble with them. They were scrumptious!

Evenin' to ya, Suzi!
It always seems that we miss each other, doesn't it?
As far as the pineapples go, I'd settle for a can of Del Monte at this point. *laughing*

Heh heh! Yeah...I was, kinda!
I love the coop...it's been a great coop! Thenuggets won't fit in that little cooplet very long, but long enough for them to get big enough to roam the back yard.

Hey, did you know that the chicken forum people actually have a kind of moot like we have? They pick a place and all get together and camp!
It's called Chickenstock...I kid you not.

All right then...
No way is ChickenStock as fun as a true moot. Just no way. Our people are much more fun. Or maybe weird is the right term.
