TOP 5 GOOD THINGS FROM THE 1970s (this is tough)
5. Scooby Doo

Hey, Grizzly Adams was the coolest! At least he was when I was 5 years old (LOL!). I didn't know that is was a horrible show and that the star was a big cokehead.
While we're on the subject of awful 70's music...
"Undercover Angel"
"The Night Chicago Died"
"Seasons in the Sun" (ughhh!)
"Feelings"
The Bay City Rollers...
and anything by Gilbert O'Sullivan or Leo Sayer(the sonic emasculators)
Honorable mention best: John O'Neill
Good call!
They were cute. :) How about the Carpenters? Anne Murray?
"The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia."
Beat out by "Me & You & A Dog Named Boo"
Followed closely by that lame song about the lost dog "Shannon"
Aaack! My suster had that 45 and played it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
Then, in 1976, Bob Dylan released "Desire," and I got her back good.
Hey! No blashpeming here! ;-) LOL
I still believe Karen Carpenter has the best singing voice I have ever heard....
You forgot to add...(drumroll).. Barry Manilow: Ohhhh, Mandy....
Good call, but no Freerepublic to waste our time with...
BTW, I wanna see yer butt in tiny polyester shorts!
Best- "Ooo,Ooo,Oooo" Welcome Back Kotter
"You Light Up My Life"

"I still believe Karen Carpenter has the best singing voice I have ever heard...."
Without question. I just bought the 2 cd DVD set. Awesome!
Yes I agree -- Karen Carpenter's voice was EXCELLENT. And she became the first celebrity covered in re Anorexia. RIP. And while we are on the quick subject of female voices from the 70s.... Ahem.. "People" "Secondhand Rose" "Stony End"... NAME THAT SINGER! (heeehee)
which song did Ferrell sing in Anchorman? I think I need to rent that movie!
Oh my! I'm gonna take awhile to digest your post!
But John Denver has to be near the top of cheesy singer/sonwriters!
Putting on my Lou Rawls CD's and cleansing the memory banks
Afternoon Delight or whatever it's officially called. It's a trio, hysterical.
Decent movie. I LOVE Will Ferrel. Old School is classic.
