NEW YORK -- The Sundance ChannelSundance Channel has greenlit "TransGeneration," an eight-episode original documentary series focusing on four college students who are getting sex-change operations.
"TransGeneration" illustrates Sundance Channel's commitment to taking on original programming from outside suppliers, having commissioned "Iconoclasts" on May 10, a series of six profiles of creative people, from @radical.media, in partnership with the Conde Nast Media Group and Grey Goose Entertainment.
For "TransGeneration," Sundance has linked up with Logo, the new cable network aimed at gays and lesbians. Sundance is putting up more of the production cost, so it gets the exclusive first window, beginning Sept. 20. Logo, which opens for business June 30, will pick the show up in the first quarter. (Viacom owns Logo and has a minority stake in Sundance, along with Robert RedfordRobert Redford and NBC Universal.)
Cameras have followed the "TransGeneration" students from four different colleges (Smith, Michigan State, U. of Colorado and California State) since September.
The director and supervising producer of "TransGeneration" is Jeremy Simmons ("Gay Hollywood"), and the exec producers are Fenton BaileyFenton Bailey and Randy BarbatoRandy Barbato, who run World of Wonder, which put together theatrical docudocu "Inside Deep Throat."
Exec producers for Sundance Channel are Laura Michalchyshyn and Adam Pincus. For Logo, the exec producers are Lauren Lazin and Eileen Opatut.
If they're going to feature sex-change operations perhaps the network should be called Log-off. (Or Log-on, as the case may be.)
Or Lop-off!
Honestly I may watch this, out of morbid curiousity.
Some Bond girl from the 1970s used to be a man, but you'd never be able to tell. But I think most turn out looking like trolls.
You're thinking of Tula, who was in "For Your Eyes Only" as a character in the background. (And was also in the video to "Rio", IIRC.) I'd post an image, but since I'm at work and since Tula was in Playboy, I think I'll refrain, just in case the boss wanders by.
I used to get the SF Chronicle - before I knew better.
They had a weekly series on a guy going through a sex change. I called up and cancelled my subscription. The "customer service" puke told me that my right wing views were the problem and started calling me things like "facist" and "bible thumping weirdo".
He told me to go get some right wing rag and they didn't want me as a customer.
I then complained about him and hopefully that little freak is no longer working there.
Sex Change Stories are NOT MAINSTREAM!!!
Thats really repulsive.
The amputees are probably the most conservative population in San Fran!
Aren't transexuals a form of amputees?
that was my point!
It works in reverse for men! ;o)
I do my part to educate the masses! ;o)
....and let me tell you we all are aware and thankful for that!
snicker
;o)
