I thought it was a great movie. Let's open the floor to discussion.
I thought this was truly a tragic ending to a great saga. As a true fan, my guts twisted as I watched Anakin walk down the path of the Dark Side.
Some plot holes:
In "Return of the Jedi" Luke tells Leia that his mother was strong in the Force, yet we never see this in the movies.
Also in "Return of the Jedi," when Luke asks Leia about her 'true' mother, Leia tells him that she remembers her mother being very beautiful and sad. Obviously, this wasn't the case.
Luke has been taken to Tatooine to live in hiding. IMO, this isn't a very good place to hide under the name "Skywalker."

I won't see it. I don't like the director making all these political comments against Bush, the war and all.
I hope with the help of conservatives here and elsewhere, that the movie vastly under performs.

I still haven't seen F-9/11, but if it is shown some night for free on the tube, I'll probably watch.
Same thing with this flick... Not One Damned Dime.

Exactly. Lucas has made NO political comments against Bush.

Didn't pay anything to see the movie, so my viewpoints should be taken at that value...
My biggest problem is why this had to be bumped up in violence. A lot of scenes didn't have to be done. The dead Jedi youngings just didn't have to be shown, nor spelling it out through a security video of them being killed.
A lot of the results of violence were demonstrated whereas in the first trilogy such things were rare. Not needed in my opinion.
Great visuals around a script that could have used some serious editing, especially in the flat dialog that at times could bore you before the next thrilling scene. The actor who played Anakin should have been dumped before this film and replaced with someone who has some character. An empty hole virtually every time he was on the screen.
Yoda kicked butt, which was nice to see once again, and R2D2's upgraded attack style could have saved a lot of moments in the first trilogy. That can can seriously whomp.
Some of it just lacked enough backstory to make good sense.
Overall, entertaining flick. Will be seeing it a couple more times (and actually paying for it at least once, at a digital projection theater.) Best since The Empire Strikes Back, which isn't saying all that much, alas.

Okay, if we're gonna get nitpicky, here's my biggest objection: In the beginning we were told by Obi Won that the Force was 'all around us', like some sort of invisible force field.
BUT Qui Jong says in Episode 1, that the force is really something that can be measured in a blood test. It's not all around you, it's either in the your blood or it's not.
Thank you, and messa won't even mention Jar-Jar.:)

But he does have a good spoiled 5 year-old pout if he just didn't use it so much.

I liked it, and we really didn't see the end of Count Dooku dying!
How about Mark Hamill, Billy Dee, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher fighting Christoper Lee in Ep. 7, 8 and 9?

It appeared to me that George Lucas got too wrapped up in his technology. The new ones took out the real feeling that the others had. Some of the fight scenes seemed as long as they were simply to show off what all Industrial Light & Magic can do. That isn't to say I didn't enjoy it, and found the story much better then the previous two.

All of the Jedi had to be destroyed. And they really didn't show it..
It was a bit of a nitpick that I was making; they could have chopped it easily. The more strange part was the security recordings of the Senator's offices. Or does he only disable those sensors when he's discussing Sith matters. (Odd how it always goes out when Joe walks through the door... :)
As I said, overall a great movie.

The only way you could possibly think anything in SW:III is against Bush is if you go looking for it.
SW:III is no more against Bush than The Passion of the Christ was anti-Semitic.

I haven't seen it yet but probably will. I hope it's better than the last two. The problem I have with the newer versions of Star Wars is the same one I have with the newer Bond movies. I find myself glancing at my watch alot during the movie and thinking about what to pick up at the grocery store. It's because the characters and storylines keep getting weaker with time. The only thing that gets better are special effects. Maybe these movie franchises suffer from overexposure. It's just not as good as it was in 1977.

You are about to find out the beauty of the English language, i.e, where "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean the same thing. It's gonna be a monster. Saw it for the first time today. As a Consevative you should love it. Government doesn't get much smaller than two Sith Lords running the Galaxy.
