The last name of the author David Drake. He literally is *the* best hard sf/mil sf writer out there, as many FReepers have attested.
The only problem with his writing is that it's *too* real sometimes...
I think John Ringo's better, but I don't like "big boat" mil sf. I like fighter pilot/combat suit stuff.
Connie Willis' "Doomsday Book" would make a great miniseries. Or "To Say Nothing of the Dog" as a movie. She writes so vividly, I can "see" the sets and characters already.
Niven's "Flatlander" stories could make a great movie a la "Minority Report".
