I spotted the problem instantly - it is 2-fold:
#1: The mouse is not an authorized Microshaft mouse and
#2: The mouse is not made in China . .

on most printers holding down the button on the front of a printer for a period of time (mine, an HP, is 2 seconds) will spit out a test print sheet

it only tests the printer; that doesnt test to see if the computer is able to talk to the printer. that would be in printer properties under control panel>printer>properties for the printer you want to use
