McCain and Romney get no respect in my book. I’ll vote next Tuesday. The presidential line appears headed for a write in this November.
I notice that “general_re” is no longer with us...

Amen!
This not new, it’s just something that, I suspect, most us Vets are on the fence about.
To those of us who our service during those times were a life changing event, it’s still very hard and, to me, disturbing subject to think about, let alone post about.
Part of me remembers, like it was this morning, those events, and part of me says...walk a mile in another man’s shoes, which I didn’t.
Personally, I think there is more than enough after service evidence to sink McManic’s ship with, than to open old wounds.
That’s just me.
I used to have a very long expose of John McCain when he was running in 2000. I can’t find it now so these old threads will have to suffice as evidence of his betrayal.
Bump for reference
I posted this a minte ago on another thread- and have mentioned it elsewhere lately.
I don’t want to go there.
My son is a comabat vet who absolutely can’t STAND John McCain. He said this morning that in his view- this entire topic should NOT be brought up during the campaign, for many reasons- many of which he didn’t want to pursue- but he said it’s just wrong.
My feeling is- it will backfire and bring sympathy to McCain and might well be enough to get him the nomination.
I won’t support this as a way to bring down McCain. There are endless reasons why this man is not suited to be our nominee- dredging up a painful past is bound to harm US more than him.
I understand your point (and your
son’s) totally. Thanks for posting
this.
Ah STARWISE & jellybean, what a surprise to see a “Zacs Mom” post! I miss her still!
Thank you, she is fighting with us still!

Bump -
The War Secrets Sen. John McCain Hides
But there was one subject that was off-limits, a subject the Arizona senator almost never brings up and has never been open about -- his long-time opposition to releasing documents and information about American prisoners of war in Vietnam and the missing in action who have still not been accounted for. Since McCain himself, a downed Navy pilot, was a prisoner in Hanoi for 5 1/2 years, his staunch resistance to laying open the POW/MIA records has baffled colleagues and others who have followed his career. Critics say his anti-disclosure campaign, in close cooperation with the Pentagon and the intelligence community, has been successful. Literally thousands of documents that would otherwise have been declassified long ago have been legislated into secrecy.

Do you know what Amnesty is? Do you have any idea what it will cost us?

Ladies,
It should never enter your mind wether or not the candidate for president is good looking or not. America is sick. Yes, it has been contamined with many deadly viruses and diseases.
Do not ask yourself if your doctor is good looking! Ask if she or he is a professional who can set America on a path to restore her health. If your answer is no ......... KEEP LOOKING!

"Good looking" is altogether different from looking good. McCain does not look well.
