I posted this a minte ago on another thread- and have mentioned it elsewhere lately.
I don’t want to go there.
My son is a comabat vet who absolutely can’t STAND John McCain. He said this morning that in his view- this entire topic should NOT be brought up during the campaign, for many reasons- many of which he didn’t want to pursue- but he said it’s just wrong.
My feeling is- it will backfire and bring sympathy to McCain and might well be enough to get him the nomination.
I won’t support this as a way to bring down McCain. There are endless reasons why this man is not suited to be our nominee- dredging up a painful past is bound to harm US more than him.

You express my feelings exactly. McCain’s volatile temper, his vulgar language to fellow Senators and his RINO record are excellent examples of his unfitness for CIC, but our willingness to stoop to the depths that some of us have in vilifying his POW time (and it was a long, long time) leave us wide open to the accusations of the likes of BOR. Let’s cut out the vitriol on his service time and stick to valid issues of his failings.
