Braking hard - John McCain to run in 2008 as Democrat
MSU | 5-10-05 | Jonathon McDough

Posted on 05/10/2005 12:24:05 PM PDT by Dan from Michigan

In a surprise announcement John McCain stated that he's running as a democrat for president in 2008. Today in a speech in Washington DC, he announced his party change. Only Arizona Newswire was there to cover it.

"I look at the party platforms, and I am closer to the democrats on major issues. I support the 2nd amendment right to hunt, but I also support for gun control. I think violent events such at Ultimate Fighting need to be banned. I destest these issue ads in campaigns that distort my record. I support going after tobacco companies. I support ending global warming. I oppose tax cuts. These are all democrat issues, so I have decided to finally join my good friend and war hero John Kerry in the party I agree with." McCain said to a large crowd of 50. He later continued, "How dare do the republicans question John Kerry's patriotism! It's time to take the patriotism card away from the republicans, the NRA, the Swift Boats, and the right wing wackos out there. This is why I have decided to run for President of the United States. This is why I am running as a Democrat, and if any of my opponents want to question my patriotism, bring it on!" to the eruption of the crowd.

The Republican Party could not be reached for comment.

Another fine candidate for the party of murder, treason and socialism. It defies my imagiantion how this piece of fishbait could have ever called himself a Republican.

I jsut called susie collins office at: Washington, D.C. Office (202) 224-2523

They knew nuthing, so I had them switch me to senator mccains office, they denied that mccain was going to do the honest thing and become a democrat.

My question: I represent a newspaper in Maine, I am reading a report on FreeRepublic.com that claims that senator mccain has honestly identified himself and his politics by switiching to the democtrat party, can you confirm that?"

The guy that answered the phone said "No, senator mccain has not switched parites he is still a (Im not sure if he said Republican or RINO) ."

Why is this posted under "humor"?

Because it's someone's attempt at humor.

Is this really news, I mean, come on, he wasn't really a Republican in the first place, and this just proves it.

As a Democrat- Yes.

As a Republican? I don't believe so. Too many people despise him to be energized to vote and work on his behalf even if Hillary is the opposition. I know I willl not vote for him in a General or Primary.

I reread it. You're right. I can't believe I had that many typos, even for a five minute job like this.
Missed commas, used contractions, should have added "for the rich" next to tax cuts.

McCain, shown here after a practice session with mentor Howard Dean

Looks like he's trying to pass a kidney stone 'bout the size of a walnut.

McCain isn't for abortion all the time, so he won't qualify as a Dem for that reason alone.

It's part of FReeper lore, like "a moose bit my sister" and going to take a shower, and having a "stuned beeber", and much, much more that I can't recall right now, but someone'll probably post the link to you.
