How does this present administration view dead beat dads? I have received no child support for 26 months, my ex husbnd is a Greek Orthodox Priest who holds a valid Marriage Counselor Licence and Mental Health Therapist.
If the flames get out of hand, mash the Abuse button and ask the mods to pour water on a few folks. Really cold stinkin' water. Melted right off the glacier kind of water.
I guess I don't see it as 'hatred', it is called hazing in some parts. Seems to me that jumping all over newbies is a longstanding tradition, of which YOU are still participating!
I very rarely jump on newbies. Most all I do is welcome the good ones and report the obvious trolls.
I wasn't hazing or jumping on you. I was trying to get you to consider giving a newbie a chance to show they can be one of us.
Some people find navigating FR to be a little difficult at first. She may have been having problems finding her way back to the thread. She may not know about the link at the top of the page that says pings. Some people think the "post" link at the top of the page is what you use to post a comment instead of an article.
Assuming Sarah is married to a marriage counselor...One would also assume Sarah would know something about divorcing couples? Which also would involve child support and alimony issues as these are typically the biggest items couples squabble over?
Easy! See trussell's posts to me. I'm STILL BEING CALLED A NEWBIE and it's 10 months later. I just happened to have thicker skin than the poster who put this amazing thread together.
I wouldn't assume that she would know all of this. It was her husband, not her who was a marriage counselor. She is not required to know how to do his job.
Would you suggest that a person married to a brain surgeon be able to person surgery also?
My only question was, what does the current administration have to do with her marriage problems? If others don't see that as the sign of something seriously wrong with this person, then I'll be!
You have to read some of the prior posts - some people on this thread thought this woman had kid(s) out of marriage.
Do you routinely ask perfect strangers whether you should blame the federal government for your problems ? If I had these problems I'd be asking my friends, family, or neighbors for help, I wouldn't be asking about the administration's position on deadbeat dads.
Wll from now on, I for one will never urge a newbie to respond to a thread they start. Nor will I ask any questions of said newbie. Wouldn't want to upset their sensitive newbie-bubble./liberal logic
no argument - I've seen that too.
I did not call you a newbie...I said you were new not too long ago. You read into it what you wanted. Obviously your way of justifying what you do to new posters.

For whatever reason, she was not given an opportunity to explain what she wrote, but read it carefully...
She never blames the current admin for her situation, and she doesn't necessarily seem to be asking for some kind of federal handout. She asks if anyone knows how the admin leans on the issue, then she briefly states her current situation. The rest of us FReepers filled in the blanks.
I've been on the forum for a while now--since '99, when my hubby first signed on. It really used to be a news/discussion forum. Not that we didn't have trolls, but we never used to stomp on newbies. We really didn't. A lot of FReepers have stopped visiting the forum because of the kind of nonsense posted on this thread and that IS a shame. Granted, the trolls are much more regular now than they were in the past--they used to come in waves, but only around elections or when something controversial was going on (Elian Gonzalez and 9/11 spring to mind).
Most of this thread was pretty tame, and most of us will see each other on future threads and everything will be cool. This forum has some bad apples, though. In my opinion, the wrong FReeper got the boot today.
Guess that's why I'm not running the show!
Ultimately, the mods make the decision about what gets pulled and what stays. I think any complaints that long-time FReepers have about this forum should be addressed to the mods.
Since you asked...

This non-profit has been getting federal funds for years. It was part of the answer to help end "welfare as we know it".

Did you know there was a formula giving states matching funds for child support collected? State are required to have a standard in place for their child support formulas. Making those formuals high is encouraged.
There are federal codes about collecting cross state border cases. We (the US) has signed treaties to deal with cases that involve situations that leave our borders.
The President has talked about "deadbeat dads" in some of his speeches. Her error is a common error. Many, if not most people think that the US government is involved in collecting child support, because it is! Thing is, most people do not know which cases, why or how the federal governmemt is involved.
We'll never know if our previous poster was one of those cases that involved two states, cuz she got the boot before we could find out.
There are several possibilities...
Interesting; of course it would have helped if she'd replied to anyone.
What type of cases is the fed. government involved in ? I've never heard of that ? How can a case involve two states ? You can only have a primary residence in one, and it's that state that handles divorce/child support at least initially.
