My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Until we meet again fair Knight
I beg thee please take care on the road of sand
and your travel to your humble abode.
The castle lights burn low
as a traveling you go
and Glen Gaul Way is cloaked in quiet
no clashing swords in the fields
no stomping hooves of the steeds
no laughter ringing from the rafters
or drinking heartily of the rum
The fireflies go limp from the silence
in the dip away down by the Gaul's great pond
and the dragonflies sleep now til dawn
Travel well and in confidence that your mission
is not spent on fruitless acts or deeds, no sir.
The Dragon Flies' Lair awaits the return of your soldiers feet.

I propose a duel...I'll write what I see, you write what you see, and Ms. Feather, would you dance, too?
You guys will outclass me, but I'll play for fun!

I'll dance as best I can, Star. And you're most welcome to join in.
To: bentfeather; Old Sarge
Thank you both, dear ones.
Thank you Sarge for keeping us safe.
Godspeed and a safe journey for you, and we anxiously await your return to The Lair Sarge.
To: StarCMC
I think it's a great size. No problems here.

At any hour, any time,
my sojourn takes me where I must,
and where I will,
for those roads run together
for time to come.
But not without the passing day
of treading the bowers of Glen Gaul Way,
flowers around the paths,
birds wading in their baths,
music from the hall,
and through this idyll all,
will walk the Lady clad in grey,
shining in a sparkling gray,
cares of the day
falling away
like leaves in the autumn of Glen Gaul Way.

The knight is ready
The battle to join
But stops with the ladies
Their heads to turn.
Who is that man?
Who sits on the steed?
An angel or demon?
A pris'ner freed?
Nay, but a gentleman
Who rises to face
The enemy who'd threaten
Our meeting place
So go to dear knight
Protect us, your friends
We'll pray upon you
God blessings, without end.
We'll rejoice on your return
Ah! What dancing t'will be.
Our hero we'll welcome!
Our land will be free!

For Sarge
Two poems from a friend who's been there and knows. Keep your six covered and come home to us to help me tease feather again.
#1
I Am, and Im Here!
I am the Hammer,
I forge the will of my country,
in foreign lands of evil intent,
and bring peace wherever Ive went.
I am the Soldier,
taking it to the enemy,
face to face, hand to hand,
Teaching the lessons of diplomacy and peace there.
I am the Sailor,
I fight on the high seas,
unless Im a SEAL,
then Im already firing the enemys own tent!
I am the Flier,
Master of armed flight,
bringing the cleansing fire,
leveling the enemys might like a Dragon of the air.
#2
Im An American!
Im an American, I love this country,
and all it means to me, a child of her love you see!
I will fight for her in times of strife,
and never fail her, as she has never failed me.
I will stand in the face of terror, or the enemy within,
defending the wonder that is my land, my home, my soul.
My brothers and my sisters stand beside me like kin,
we raise the flag and say no to evil, driving it to its hole.
America, we shine across the age, being all that we can be,
setting examples evil can not diminish, or even dim.
We are, because we will be, our light shines across every sea,
illuminating the way for others who have the courage to risk life and limb.
Freedom is the magic touchstone that gives us all we are,
and set the mold for those who follow in our steps to go beyond.
Forget the doubters and those who wish us to fail, those who set the bar,
leave them behind with all the other losers, America, heres our bond!

Your poem is very moving Star, thank you.
To: StarCMC
The rider is ready
the sword stays sheathed
the saddle is polished
the estate bequeathed,
All things are in order
as the call rings across
the glen and the moor
and the turves of the moss,
But the fire is bright and the song is so gay
that I turn my horse back, for just one more day
with friends and fair lovelies, whose favor they hold,
for there will be time yet, for me to be bold,
for the muster has called, but the time for the ride
has yet to await for the turn of the tide,
and the moon is inviting and the dance is so well,
that the Glen has again cast its magical spell.
