A Plainview man who stole eight cans of Spam worth $23.92 last year will pay for it with a year in prison.
Ricardo Ramirez, 34, made the mistake of stealing the food -- normally a misdemeanor -- when he had two prior felony convictions for theft for which he spent a total of 23 months in jail, said First Assistant District Attorney Mark Hocker.
Ramirez had only been out of state jail for 11 days when he was nabbed for stealing the Spam from a convenience store about 2:45 a.m. on Jan. 18.

Why didn't get some bread, cheese, and some drinks while he was at it? I mean, if you are gonna steal Spam, then you sould get some fixins for a sandwich.
This guy must have wanted a roof and three squares a day - he got them.
ROFLMAO! Gee, that looks like my inbox on an average day. I wonder if the guy tried to steal different varieties of Spam, or if it was all one variety. These are important details that the writers missed! :-)
I can't blame him, I wouldn't pay almost 3 bucks a can for that junk!
if someone is desperate enough to steal spam...let them have it! good lord, i grew up on that stuff...can't look at it anymore. blah
One per year I get a craving for Spam. I do not know why, but I will have an annual hankering for the stuff and I'll buy a few cans of the stuff (one of each variety) and will make a meal or snack of it for a few days. After that, I will not have a desire to eat any of it until the following year.
