I heard on Michael Savage, and read on kausfiles.com, that the latest ratings showed Fox News losing viewership in some recent months. A caller to Savage suggested it was because they spent too much time on Schiavo story.
I wonder whether, instead, it was because of their blatant bias AGAINST Terri -- a bias that was noted by many freepers, some of whom said they were turning off Fox News because of the anti-Terri bias. Only Sean Hannity took the "conservative," "traditional values" side of the argument, pointing out that Terri hadn't made it clear that she'd want to be put down, so the courts didn't have a right to have her killed.
Other Fox talking heads - "Shep," "the Leper-con"(Savage's term for O'Reilly, Kondrake, Gretta, you name them - seemed to come down on the side of the evil and incompetent Judge Greer. Or at least that seemed to be the way things were going when I stopped watching Fox News because of their bias against Terri. If Fox News is moving left - and they certainly did on the Terri issue - could THAT expalin the ratings decline?
I do wonder what is the point of giving Greta an hour. It can't be because they want ratings; I can't believe she draws an audience. If they wanted ratings, they'd go with Laura Ingraham or Ann Coulter. There must be something else going on, to explain why they've given the weird liberal Greta a show.
Michael Savage is at his best reading passages from Isaiah, a prophet who condemned the cultural rot of his day. Savage is saying, implicitly, that he's a modern Isaiah - - - and, as you say, telling those truths can't be done in a pretty, refined way.
Savage is an INDEPENDENT conservative. Doesn't see his role as being an acolyte for the Bush family or the Republican National Committee, unlike some on talk radio. This makes some freepers uncomfortable with him.
I don't give a flying flip what he calls himself. He's a bomb throwing blowhard. And that's all he is.
Laura says she will not do television again and a radio gig at the same time, but Ann Coulter and Drudge might be interesting at 10 Eastern.
Recent months? Possibly had higher ratings during the elections like talk radio?
I agree. I think Savage is out for himself only. Ratings fluctuate...but FNC is still completely dominating the market. They're not going anywhere...there's no worries there.
Dude get over it... All you do is post about this. Get a grip.
I agree, I think Savage is doing this with the same motivation he had when he attacked O'Reilly. He is just looking to jump on the coat-tails of other's success.
Or possibly the weather and other shows? Like 24 and American Idol...
>>>instead, it was because of their blatant bias AGAINST Terri -- a bias that was noted by many freepers, some of whom said they were turning off Fox News because of the anti-Terri bias.
THAT one has my vote!!!!!
I dumped O'Reilly when he refused to "look out for" poor Terri. His incessant whining about all the "pinheads" in the Florida legal system who botch all the child welfare cases really rang hollow after he ignored the "legal" starvation of an innocent, child-like, brain damaged woman.
I also quit listening to Neal Boortz because I found it bizarre that a supposed libertarian like Neal was perfectly ok with big brother government having the power to starve Terri.
Does anyone still listen to Savage?
I don't trust a single thing that comes out of his mouth... he wishes he has the numbers that anyone at FNC has.
At night, I'd have to go home and respond to phone calls and correct all the misperceptions.
Orlando Salinas interviewd me ONCE and it was a great soundbite but since it was directed at Jeb Bush, they cut it out of future broadcasts. Jeb Bush gave a press conference right after I was on (according to a friend in the panhandle). She said, "It was so bizarre, you were on once saying "be careful who you vote for, this was part of Jeb's legacy that an innocent woman was murdered on his watch."
My friend said that right after that, Jeb gets on the airwaves and throws a presser together and was pale as a ghost. I think the Bush's tell Fox news what to do. I really do.
Despite emails to a full slate of Fox News personages (including Ailes) and a call to their correction line ("To correct an innaccuracy, press 3"), the Orwellian climate persisted.
Fox's ratings went down in this demo to absolute zero, persistent televegetable state.
Greta's job is to saturate the air with polymorphous perversity, while O'Ego's role is to chirp, "It's Bush's fault."
Savage sees the irony that the invasion from the south is the dead horse in the living room.
Rush didn't come out of his coma until March 18.
Hannity had the juevos to get down there--just like he did with the Minutemen.
Brit is a gold standard, but look who's running Sunday: Chris Chip-Off-The-Old-Communist, while Geraldo does Jackson's public relations.
Fox has problems; one of them was its merciless thumbs-down stance vis-a-vis sparing Terri.
That's what manic depression'll do to ya.
Please, oh please, God, put it in her mind to take elocution classes or get some speech training. She is one of the sloppiest speakers I've ever heard on radio. She doesn't even speak in complete sentences, and she Ums and Uhs all the freakin' time.
>>>Take what Savage says with a grain of salt.
Try truckload of salt. He's as loony tunes as a Warner Brothers animated short.
