Actor Robert Downey Jr left presenter Lorraine Kelly lost for words today by telling her: "Your t*ts look great!
The former Hollywood bad boy had daytime viewers choking on their cornflakes when he made the remark on ITV1 show This Morning.
Kelly, wearing an orange cardigan and black camisole which revealed a hint of cleavage, was hosting the show in place of Fern Britton.
She welcomed Downey Jr to the show by telling him: "You look fantastic, you look really well."
The 40-year-old actor replied: "Thanks. I was going to say that your t*ts look great too!"
A clearly shocked Kelly, 45, said "Thank you, that's nice," as Downey Jr added: "Particularly today."
Kelly managed to say: "Oh good, well I'm glad I made you happy."
Gazing down at her cleavage and adjusting her top, she said: "I didn't realise they were so out."
Kelly's co-host Jeremy Kyle, on his first day as temporary replacement for Phillip Schofield, stepped in to change the subject by saying: "Let's move swiftly on."
An embarrassed Kelly agreed: "I think we should."
A This Morning insider said: "Lorraine wasn't showing acres of cleavage so his comment was a little unexpected. She was a bit embarrassed but carried on with the interview like a pro."
Downey Jr, who earned an Oscar nomination for his role in Chaplin and won a Golden Globe for his guest spot in TV series Ally McBeal, is currently clean after a well-publicised battle against drug addiction which resulted in a spell in prison.
He landed a record deal after singing on Ally McBeal and is now launching his debut album, The Futurist.
Downey Jr also has two films due for release - Disney remake The Shaggy Dog and action thriller Kiss Kiss Bang Bang with Val Kilmer.
I like to see a straighforward proclamation in a format where it is totally unexpected. Having heard Downey's recent CD release up close a few times the guy has definitely got some artistic license. Good to see him use it to the hilt. Might as well while he's got the time.

Nah, she’s on mornings (Good Day LA or whatever) with those other guys… I’m thinking about another “J” girl name… “Jill?/Jane?/Jan?”

Jillian is built to the hilt too - but is irritating. Heck, they're all irritating now, but the cutie on the evening weather is less so, IMO.
Incidentally, I get a kick out of that "Johnny Mountain" guy. Ha. He looks like the model for a news-guy from a Simpson's episode or something... (He's got good pipes though... not as good as the guy that announced for Art Bell, but in the same league.)
(I hope FOX replaces her this season with someone less obnoxious).
