The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

When the Indian guys start remarking about your need for a shave and a haircut, you need to start examining yourself in the mirror.

wow... they really say that to you?...

Yeah, it's awful, but I guess I deserved it.

Heh, the Indian guys I know are pretty gentlemanly and wouldn't tell a girl she needed to shave even if it were true!

I dunno, not getting that everyone is glaring at you with the "if you tell one more pointless story I'm going to kill you" look is pretty clueless.

I'm clueless but I generally get that one.

And how on Earth did Rosie get to her thing without Van-sama?

Answer: I went downtown and drove around and around and around near the church and couldn't find parking. Apparently something I didn't know about was goin' on. So...I came back and went for a lonnnnnnng walk. Ah! Very nice night for that. I did have some lady stop me as I was going by her house to ask if I'd help her move something as her friend who was GOING to help her was late...but she musta seen that I was nervous (silly, I know...but going into a stranger's house? Hm...no thanks), so she said she'd continue waiting for her friend. Other than that, an uneventful walk.

There are SO many neighborhoods around here for walking! In some directions there are big roads, but in others, you can just go, and it's quiet and peaceful with lots of pretty houses and gardens.

Hmmm...

This picture is sorta funny, since this crab is obviously cooked, yet it is sitting on sand. Dungeoness crabs are green/grey and white while live, and only turn red when cooked.
