We really enjoyed Spidey 2! I love the theme song, "Ordinary", by Train.

You sure? I don't know much about migraines but those symptoms sound really weird...

You know, your idea of doing homebrew in beer bottles is a good one. You would use about one bottle every 3 days, and it wouldn't go stale before you could finish it!

Heh...my brother's went up in one at a festival of some sort years ago. They didn't ask Mom's permission because they KNEW she'd be horrified. She always told us she didn't want us climbing trees to a height any higher than our own height (yeah, right...), so that would REALLY have scared her.

So instead, they came to her afterwords and apologized profusely.

The brother that went to New Zealand used the same tactics to tell her about skydiving and (if I remember correctly) bungie jumping. Heh.

I've had migraines where I saw flashes and also one or two where my eyes were so sensitive to light that I couldn't see...but never had items MISSING from my vision. That's a little spooky.

I'm 98% sure.

The same thing happened to me one other time in 1997. I was in the nursees station and the nurse I was talking to just disappeared! By the time they got me to ER, I was starting the eye flashing (lke rippling water. Then the pain started.

The flashing just stopped.

You know what they say, "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission."

Yep. And they lived it - all of 'em.

I was always too worried about getting in trouble BOTH for what we were gonna do AND because "You're the oldest and should know better, and you should have looked after the others". So I never did any of the crazier things the younger guys did. I live in a state of perpetual guilt. ;)

Do you have any Excedrin for Migraines? How about some of that "Morning Relief"?

Heh!! I'm sorry to scare everyone...

I'm OK! I have a migraine. It's starting to hurt right now. Steve is aware, Matthew is going to sit with me and i'm going to go lay down.

I'll check back in, but I'm fine!

I don't have any MR...:-(

I'm taking a regular alka seltze...aspirin is a good thing to take for a migraine, it thins the blood and it passes through the vessels in the brain easier.

Now if I'm having a stroke, that woudln't be a good thing. LOL!!!

I'm NOT having a stroke!!

Thanks for the links!

Ordered Thirteenth Warrior (yes, I know...Im obsessed...AGAIN) for 8.50 (thereabouts). It appears to be the average price, so no biggie. Just hope it gets shipped before the end of the week.

I finally made an appearance at the local writers group and will be joining as a member tonight. They kindly allowed me to read part of the manuscript for the graphic novel I want to put together. I have A LOT to work on. JenB, thank you kindly for the anime link. I have mixed emotions about the stuff...I am astounded and impressed by the beautiful art, but it is so thoroughly Japanese in premise, that this little old Western Civ mind has a real hard time with it. I'm afraid I angered a couple of anime fans the other night in the book store when I told them that I thought the American graphic novel was something that needed more bolstering and that was the audience I was shooting for. Neil Gaimon's stuff is incredible.

Not a big problem. I just watch the entire season later when it's out on DVD. I can't handle the suspense and having to make sure I'm available to watch every week...

Heh, I'd bolster American graphic novels if the art were prettier. I've read all of Sandman. Nice story idea. Truly hideous, IMO, art. It feels like the art is squeezed in around the dialogue bubbles. And the colors are too many and not right.

Can you draw, or would your graphic novel be a collaboration? I respect those who can both draw and write... one online comic I really like, because it uses the Japanese style in an American way, is MegaTokyo.

Anyway I absolutely agree, I'd love it if American cartoons and comics would integrate a bit more beauty into their art and learn to tell a rip-roaring good story at the same time. Would be nice to have more graphic novels that aren't about superheroes - that's something that attracts me to manga, no spandex.
