The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Just checking in quickly here from work. Comcast is experiencing an internet outage in our area, so Hair will not be around until whenever that gets fixed.

I never have problems with Comcast... well, there was that day last month where it was out until about 10, but that's it.

Verizon may begin offering service in our area. I may check them out. Comcast is way too pricey.

I agree with that! It's more than my gas and electric bill combined, most months!

Hey, Lil...

I just looked up the values for a pound of beef liver on the USDA database. I'd been worried about eating it, because I thought it was too high in cholesterol. But you know the thinking is that cholesterol isn't the culprit in high cholesterol in humans...it's saturated fat! I found that a pound of pan-fried liver only has 5.5g of saturated fat! I ate it in two meals, so that's not very much per meal, sis!

And then there's this...you know I have trouble with anemia...this pound of liver had 22mg of iron in it!

So I feel like I can eat it without too much guilt and besides, I love it! And it's cheap! The whole pound cost $1.88!

Yup, it's cheap. Cuz most humans don't like eating organs.

I'm glad you love it! The very idea of eating liver revolts me. At least, though my mother made us eat things like fish, she never forced organs down our throats.

Ha ha! No, I don't force the jedis to eat it either...I asked if they wanted some, because I'd hate to eat up something from someone if they wanted some. Matthew said an abrupt "no"...no surprise there. Joshua said he'd try it...which was also not a surprise, and he said it was ok, but preferred the chicken.

No one forced me to eat it either...I started eating liver cheese loaf with my grandmother when I was a kid...I always thought she ate the coolest things and tried everything she had. Then I got in to fried chicken livers, then beef liver and onions at Luby's Cafeteria. And for a liver-lover like myself...OT's liver pudding was absolute nirvana.

I don't eat anything like the rest of my family. No one else eats like me. Joshua is a lot like me and I anticipate he'll grow up with a wide and varied diet. Matthew is like my mom...very very very picky. I don't force the issue, because I don't care that much. Just so long as he eats something.

Was kinda annoying though, my mom used to really ridicule him about his eating and she's the world's worst picky eater.

Note to self: do not let 2J cater for you. Liver cheese loaf? Dare I ask what that is?
