The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Hmmm. Raspberry wheat...never tried it, but I'll look to see if our local place has some. They sell some of their more unusual types by the individual bottle so you can try it without having to commit to a whole 6-pak in case you can't abide it!

Try some lemon in a wheat recipe. It's VEY refreshing on a hot summer's day!

Morning!

Shouldn't we have the week off for Memorial Day? Weather's too nice to spend it at werk.

Trade me what??

Climates :)

You deal with a fargin' "Winter Storm Warning" a week after the Vernal Equinox, and the related evidence against global warning that precedes and follows :)

Well, I want your weather. Gonna be over 100 again. Gonna be out in it again. But at least it is the last day. I'm in an office tomorrow.... then a jet plane on the way home! Whoooo!

A winter storm warning would be very refreshing after several days of "Near Record Hot Temperatures."

It' supposed to get to mid 80's today and then highs in the 70's for the rest of the week. Need some rain, though.

Just heard the weather for this week. Not supposed to get much above the mid-50's all week. We got a Nor'easter coming through on Wednesday with winds gusting up to 50mph! I'm just glad it's this week instead of next. Clare is going to a Homeschool camp next Sunday for a week in mid-state VT, and it's cold enough anyway, much less with rain and wind!
