The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

eww.

Well, there was this one book with the squiggly writing...though I'm almost sure it said "provide sample here"...

I watched episodes 1 and 2 and don't really care if any of the characters went out in a big fireball.

Couldn't Lucas hire any real writers?

Episode III does a lot to redeem 1 and 2.

Later...

The characters in I and II were almost just cartoon characters - and one-dimensional, irritating cartoon characters at that.

They did a much better job at character development in the old ones. It was PAINFUL when Han got frozen.

I'd have gladly frozen any of the new folks.

The funny thing is, that the current group of engineers doesn't drink. Well, one does, but he doesn't drink to get drunk. The previous group did - every night. Made me feel a little awkward, being a non-drinker.

Yep. [sip] although 50's is a little cold for me. Tomorrow will be a coffee out back sort of morning.

I think I should rename it "The Cat's Room." I'd invite ya over to see it if the house wasn't such a mess! Are ya doing anything Memorial Day weekend?

Well, if you need any parts, 2J could probably get them for you at a reasonable price. She seems to be finding all kinds of great bargains!

I"ve become a big fan of the unfiltered Belgian style wheats. Sam Adams' Hefeweizen is delicious as is Harpoon's UFO (Unfiltered Offering). I'm gonna have to go to the liquour store and try a couple of the REAL Belgians to see what I like.
Sam Adams Summer Ale is a wheat beer with a little hint of lemon. It is extremely satisfying on a hot day. Usually, beer doesn't really quench my thirst, but the Summer Ale does. Great with burgers!

I told the kids that there were a couple of scenes where it looked like Anakin was phoning his part in. He just didn't seem to have his heart in it. But then, I've never though Hayden Christianson was a good actor, anyway. I could definitely see Ewan McGregor aging into the Alec Guiness Obi Wan.

Carrie Fisher did some good acting in that sequence, without any words at all!

Well dang! Might as well funkle on outta here. Gonna make some pancakes, bacon and fresh strawberries. Then we gotta tackle the attic and strighten it up so we can store some stuff up there during the remodel.
