The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

The only real "spoiler" Jr. and I were talking about is that Lucas messed up with having Padme die in childbirth. In ROTJ, Luke asks Leia about their mother and she talks as if she remembers her. But that's about all I was thinking tonight.

Yeah, I got that too... oh well, Lucas just screws up a lot. I though the whole Padme dies of a broken heart thing was too stupid for words anyway.

I thought about that as well, but I wondered if she was thinking of the wife of Jimmy Smit's character. THAT one didn't occur to me unti the end, then it was a big DOH!

Aaagh! :)

Yeah. I know certain things must happen.

One of them is that instead of going to see it today I'll be going to the reopening/rededication ceremony for a long-ago-filled and somewhat neglected cemetery.

The relatives I have there are sufficiently ancient that they are more "ancestors" than relatives, and the prevailing tone will be respect rather than mourning.

I think the last burial of anyone I know of happened before I was born, or not long thereafter. The one I'm most interested in is my GT GT Grandfather, who served in the 161st NY Regt dring the Civil War, and died in 1911.

If I can get it, the goal will be "stock condition".

It runs, has a decent paint job, needs the front bumper straightened, a couple door handles (interior), the beeber stuned, and a gas pedal. The pedal is gone, but the thing the gas pedal pushes on is there, so it can be driven.

Goooood morning. I'm through with playing in dirt until Monday. :) Yesterday was quite warm (100+) and we spent all day out in it... with no shade. But the plan for the weekend is to head for the mountains! We'll do some hiking and shoppin', I think.

Definitely made up for 1 and 2

Did any of the characters move past the "wooden" stage? Think I'll wait for the DVD to come out and get it from Netflix.

The dialogue between Anakin and Padme is still pretty hokie. And I've seen better acting from Jimmy Smits.

But for the most part, it was pretty good.
