The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Should be around 100.

Grumble, grumble, grumble....I've been freezing under air-conditioning all day. Think I'll start bringing a space heater to work.

Hi everyone!

I had no choice but to be exceedingly productive at work today, so I had no chance to pop in until now.

I'm fixin' to have a beer and a cigarette to unwind before deciding what to do tonight.

trini and I might catch Hitchhikers Guide at the theatre tonight if we feel up to braving the Star Wars crowds. :-D

I'm trying to decide whether it's worth it do try to do some yard work or not. I'd sit and rock if I didn't have to listen to the neighbor mowing.

Mmmmm...air conditioning.

Granted, seems like most places either have it off or on full-blast, with no middle ground.

But it's too hot here. Haven't even tried to write...my brain isn't really functioning. Need something like a CPU fan for brains.

Heh...but you don't have as big a place to air condition!

I'm quite comfortable now with all the ceiling fans going and no AC.

'Course it's only 78.

No ceiling fans. It's not that bad, though. The afternoon sun is on the other side of the building.

Too hot to cook, though.

I've got a ceiling fan to put up only I want to paint the ceiling first.

Maybe I should do that this weekend but I hate to spend nice days indoors painting. I get too tired at night and I'd like to paint during the day so I can see what the heck I'm doing!

Does your apt. have A/C? A way to make it seem cooler than it is, is to turn the A/C on, but at a fairly high temp like 75-78, and then turn on a small fan. It gets the air moving, but the air is slightly cool, so it makes it feel cooler than you've having to pay for on the A/C, and the fan doesn't draw that much electricity.

If you don't have an A/C, just having a fan to move the air around makes it feel MUCH better!
