The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I'm thinkin' it's leftovers again tonight...both because we have 'em and because there's no WAY I wanna fire up the stove today. Ugh.

Put the Frying Pan of Doom in the sunlight, cook eggs in that.

That could work! Except that if it happened to fall, it could very well brain someone but good.

Eek!

We don't like our neighbors anyway.

Eat whatever you feel like for dinner, whenever you like. I'll eat when I get home... remember there's salad in one of the drawers... and ice cream ;-)

It's supposed to be in the nineties tomorrow though.

In May.

That's just *wrong*.

Guess I'd better get used to it, though.

Just wanted to stop in and let everybody know that I finally finished reading Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy.

I finally know what Jen's tagline means! :-D

Although it wasn't the tagline she has now.

I still haven't read anything past the first book and a very tiny bit of the second...and for that, I heard the radio play.

But the radio play came BEFORE the book...so I'm justified.

I still want to see the movie once more before it's out of the theaters. I suppose here I have some time before I have to worry about that. I hope!

Back home, most movies only show for a couple of weeks, tops. If they're really popular they show longer, but not many merit that. When some of the LOTR movies lasted until almost the third week of January...I think that was almost record-breaking.

You're starting to rack up some nice trinkets. I'm glad, you need to know that the soldiers appreciate you as much as you appreciate us.

Ya know...you really should do some fiction writing.

Should we draft you involuntarily into NaNoWriMo?

Correct. We watched it last night. It was...very strange, but enjoyable.

It kinda threw me off for a bit when Robert Preston showed up. We'd already heard his voice in the movie, of course...but I didn't make the connection at first.

My cousin especially likes The Music Man.

I, OTOH, don't care for musicals generally.

Sez he, the Preston character in Starfighter is the same as in The Music Man.

Meh...go figure :)
