The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I was in 8th grade I guess... and I remember seeing a few of the minor eruptions from our boat on Puget Sound.

I think I was in Yard Birds Market with my dad on May 18. I remember listening to the radio in the sporting good dept with the store clerk.

I've loved the mountain ever since. It's too bad you didn't have time to go see it when you were here. It's really still quite a sight.

I'm fretting. I'm gonna take that form by...but there are several pages at the back that require a notarized signature. I have NO idea what exactly that means. I'm assuming I have to locate someone to watch me sign 'em...but isn't a notary some sort of government or legal position? And if that's the case, where in the world do I have to go for notarization and how much is it gonna cost me, I wonder?

Look in the phone book under "notary". There's almost certainly someone in Old Town who can do it. No clue about the fee, though.

I know....

It's REALLY pouring out. I went and put all the horses in because Cyn was left out of the lean-to.

Eek...first place I checked said five dollars a document, and I have five papers to be signed.

Looks like there's someone at the courthouse, too, though. Two dollars a document. Still hurts...but I guess I can live with it. 'specially if it gets me the job!

I think I'm gonna take the eleven twenty-seven bus, though, since there may be a long wait. I'll give you a call if I'm REALLY delayed.

Hope it's the nice bus driver today.

I didn't hear the thunder, but that would explain the big dog in my lap.

All banks have folks who are notary publics. If you have opened a checking account anywhere yet, just go there and ask if there is a notary available to witness your signature on some papers. If you have an account, they'd likely do it with no charge. They might charge a nominal fee if you don't have an account.

I feel so bad! Matthew got a really bad sunburn yesterday! His first one and I feel awful!

I've given him an Advil, and put him to soak in a tepid bath with mineral oil in it...but I don't know what else to do!

You'd think as a nurse, I'd know what to do, but all I really know what to do in this situation is go get a shot and give it to him to ease the pain and I can't very well do THAT!

I'm so upset! How could I let this happen??

You just saved me some bucks! ;-)

Glad to help. I knew they'd have them because I used to be a Notary Public for the State of Florida when I worked as a "Loan Arranger" for a Savings and Loan. When I closed the loans, I would have to notarize folks' signatures on the morgages, etc.

Do you have any lotion with aloe vera in it? It is really soothing on sunburn.

Just put a lot of lotion on it, slather it on... it'll feel good and cool and save some of it from peeling, if it can be saved ;~D

They make a cooling spray that feels good too.
