The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Just enough to get the pavement wet.

Tell me how the "Pinafore" dvd is!

Another final sometime in the next few weeks, a presentation next week, and two big projects. That's it! A lot, but I can see the train at the end of the tunnel now...

I just gave Joshua a piece of chocolate candy. He said "Oh, I love these!" I said "I know you do" and he said "But what am I?" and ran off.

:-\

Too much PeeWee's Big Adventure...

I surely need to make a quiver. Although I have figured out how to hold a handful of arrows in my bow hand.

Meanwhile, I wasn't too happy with the drawing of W the other night, so I did it over, taking my time. This one seems more natural, I think. Apologies for whatever shadow is in the picture.

I copied his hair from Urban's Eomer.

Thank you!

I'm going to mail it tomorrow. I reconsidered the box of cookies because I don't know how old this fellow is, or if he's married...if some woman sent my husband cookies, to his home, I might be offended! If some woman sent my husband's unit some cookies, I'd be all right with that.

So I'll wait till I get more info.

Sam - that's a great drawing, you're quite an artist. It's one talented group that hangs out here.

Regarding the quiver, the plains style is easy to make, can be laced instead of sewn and is more convenient than a shoulder or back quiver under most circumstances. A belt quiver can be as simple as a piece of pvc pipe (with a bottom) with some of that reed window shade material glued to it, drill a couple holes for belt loops. Handy for target shooting.

Sam - Great drawing! I can't even draw a stick figure properly so knowing someone who can draw and paint like you do simply astounds me. :-D

I are one. But I'll see it when I see it.

Furthermore, I've decided that I will see this one cold. No books, no spoilers, no going out of my way to see trailers.

It's one of those things...you (I at least) have to see the latest one.

Like the Star Trek movies...every other one was unutterable frap*. But when "Star Trek XXI: Revenge of the Horta/Tribble Hybrid" comes out in 2034, it's almost certain I'll be seen nearby.

*"Frap" seems to have replaced "carp" in my vocabulary. For the former, blame Lileks, and for the latter, Dilbert.

With my luck, the PETA folks would show up and threaten me.
