Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well... Johnny was Sue's younger brother; when the comic first started, he was still in high school... Peter Parker's age, in fact. Reed and Ben are supposed to be roughly the same age, but Sue was younger than them.
I don't know what the "current continuity" is, but originally (in 1961) Reed and Ben were both college grads, as well as being veterans of WWII... so when the series started they were supposed to be in their early-to-mid 40s, I would say.

Oh, I just had a thought... it's going to be playing at the Alamo Drafthouse here in Austin. I wonder what kind of event they'll stage for opening night?
Maybe I should bring the camera...

I'm sure I will go see it. I did like the X-Men films.

I can't play this game. I didn't enjoy the book (I may read it again before the movie).

I am thinking to see if I can round up some geek-type friends to go opening night, towels and all.
You in, Rosie?

I just hope it will be as good as X-Men... I'm afraid it will be more like Daredevil or The Hulk: tolerable because it's faithful to the comic, but not really that good of a movie. Will have to wait and see...

Good luck! Of course!
For what? What did I miss? :~D

Yeah, but we know Amidala dies before we meet Luke in the next (original movie) episode. But she's gotta live long enough to birth Luke and Leia.
Jar Jar's our only hope for a ~meaningful~ death.

This ~could~ be a good movie year.
We get the new Star Wars (okay, maybe not). But also the new "Harry Potter" and the Narnia movie. Plus "Kingdom of Heaven" and the new Batman movie.

I saw trailers for that Kingdom of Heaven.
I think for Orlando Bloom, taking riding and swordfighting lessons for LoTR has made him as much money as acting school has ;~D

Prolly not too many Hollywood actors who can leap a tall oliphaunt with a single bound...

I hope you plan to keep going, and upload some of your posts from here to the site :~DI'm basically rewriting the HH knife story on the blog, based on all the history we now have. The stuff posted here was "realtime". Now I can look back, and see where the project has been "pushed" in certain directions that weren't apparent when I first wrote of the stuff here.
