You haven't done a hot tub thrashing yet? Rookie!

Yeah I know but when that "hot" tub call comes in I don't want to be an example of what not to do on some training video. 8>)

Yeah, I just now read it, too. Pretty outrageous.

I didn't see why the fuzz were called out in the
first place, but I assume it was the loud music?

But the way they conducted themselves was completely uncalled for!

It wouldn't do your sketches? I scanned a page out of my Senior Year HS yearbood and it came out a bit grainy. But I attributed that to the yearbook, not the scanner. (But I haven't tried to fiddle with the settings, etc. yet, either. So I may be able to overcome it when I get time to read the information that came with it, haha! I've just been scanning with whatever the defaults are).

It also saves the image to whatever folder it feels like rather than letting me specify where I want them saved to.

When I scan pics, it brings up a window that DOES have a "Browse" button and it lets me select WHERE I want the pics scanned to. At first, I had the same problem you did until I used the "Browse" button and selected where I wanted them to go.

There is also a line in that window that allows you to "name" the photo scans when saving them. (Example: Yesterday the AC/Heater thermostat in my house bit the dust. I took some photos of it to send to my buddy so he could help me figure out some stuff on the replacement. When I scanned the pics I typed in "Thermostat" and it scanned the pics and saved them as "Thermostat001", "Thermostat002", etc.).

Yes. When I read it, I saw nothing there to cause the police to
act the way they did. They were way out of line from the way
that article details the story.

It refused to scan the sketches.
Kept trying to tell me that it was a document.
Hitting the browse option didn't produce any results different from what I've experienced with it.
(Was one of the things I tried initially.)

Something else it does, it grabs onto system memory and resources, and doesn't let them go.
And if you scan again, it grabs more system memory and resources unntil you have to reboot the machine.

Could just be the scanner itself, and just this scanner.
Or the installation was somehow slimed and has gone undetected.
(I did not install the scanner, so I do not know.)

I figured this one would be toast. Signs up today,
silly post, no link, no replies back to the thread.

And still he breathes. :)

Have a good day, and good weekend.

Oh, I see. All those symptoms do sound strange. I guess it could be the scanner itself.

I did not install the scanner, so I do not know.

If you have the Scanner software disc still, you might try to uninstall the software from your computer and then reinstall it. The instructions specifically say to install the software FIRST before hooking up the scanner. The guy that seemed to know what he was talking about in the review that I read said that was important.

I think I would give it a try, if it were me. Nothing to lose, given the symptoms, and everything to gain if it resolves the issues. :)

If uninstall/reinstall doesn't fix your problems, it could be something with the scanner possibly.

I wasn't the guy who installed it, and it's on the other machine, so I honestly have no say on that one.
*chuckle*

The CD, it's somewhere that I have no idea it's location.
Usually how it works.

My solution?
Have someone else deal with the scanner.
(Though I would like to be able to use it as I do have sketches to scan.)
Once it has so frustrated everyone else to no end, iteh problem will be solved one way or the other.

I'm currently glad it isn't hooked to my machine.
*chuckle*

I built it, and just got it back to full working order aftwer a windows update caused some small concern.

Ah, so you ARE handy. :)

Well, I'm off to Home Depot.

Gotta find a thermostat for my home AC/Heater.

After ONLY 31 years when the house was new,
this one has bit the dust.

See ya'll later. :)
