Um, didn't she kind of make herself available for the STD? Here's a clue--don't mess around, you won't get STD's.

In the civil lawsuit, Sonya Elliott, who says she is Vick's former girlfriend, claims Vick gave her genital herpes in an April 2003 encounter. I didn't know you could spread herpes by "encountering".

Gee - sex with strangers may have side effects...
Who knew??

Always gotta watch where you dip your wick.
The growing problem in the US of STDs is completey ignored by the lame media, because it totally goes against its view that there are no consequences with sex with anyone at any time.

HIV-related cases of uninformed sexual contact causing infection are going to open the door to possible legal action in ANY transmission of a non-curable sexual disease.
Why not just have fedgov pass a law about sex, standardize forms to be signed by both parties with disease history, provide a special court and remedies for omissions, etc.
I find the idea of suing someone for giving you HSV-2 simply absurd. Why not sue for not being given an orgasm as well?

I think the woman should be lucky it is only herpes and not something more deadly. She should have just kept her mouth shut and learned a very valuable lesson from that mistake and not repeat it again. But I am sure it is all about the money to her.

I wonder if this is a shake down since Vick has a lot of money? If Vick really has it, then I am sure he would have settle out of court in order to avoid a public embarrassment. Furthermore, if an Attorney cannot win on the facts of the case then they attempt to win it in the court of public opinion. I will just sit back and watch on this one, and not make any assumptions. Remember there is two sides to each story, and the truth.

Here's the paperwork from The Smoking Gun:

She and Vick weren't strangers - they knew each other for quite a while before they had sex. He has apparently been receiving herpes treatment and testing under the name "Ron Mexico."
Hee.

The gift that keeps on giving. But since maybe 20% or more of the population has has either Type 1 or Type 2, this should not be a surprise.

And the best outcome will hopefully be no more stupid Vick commercials. It's not that he can run, it's that he has the drips. But they misidentified him in the article. He's not a quarterback, he's a running back who occassional throws the ball.

I once dated a woman for a few months, and before things progressed too far, she informed me that she was a HSV-2 carrier. She was so upset about it, poor thing. Her disclosure made me like her even more. We broke up sometime after that (for other reasons), and never really went past "1st base" anyways. She did the responsible thing, and for that I am ever greatful. I have very fond memories of her.
