Bush has lost control of our borders. (Troll can only hold breath so long)

Posted on 04/03/2005 5:11:58 PM PDT by VictorMature

Would one of you rightists please explain to this liberal, card-carrying member of the ACLU why George W. Bush is ignoring our border security and allowing a bunch of Wal*Mart shopping goobers to do the job that us taxpayers have paid the U.S. Border Patrol to do?

What gives, cons? We on the left thought that you apologists were all for our national security interests. Has your patriotism become as selective as your morality; as you people let it be known in the Terri Schiavo piety circus?

Keep looking the other way, I dare you. Keep ignoring this Latino vote-gathering gamble by Bush on your party's part and see what it gets you.

ACLU = American Communist Lovers Union

On January 16, 1981, President Jimmy Carter awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Roger Nash Baldwin, founder of the American Civil Liberties Union and the International League for Human Rights. While lauded as a champion of human and civil rights both domestically and internationally, Dr. Baldwin left behind as his legacy an institution that is fundamentally un-American and subversive to the principles upon which America was founded.

Baldwin, who visited the Soviet Union in 1927, was greatly intrigued by Communism. So intrigued was Baldwin by the Soviets that in 1928 he released the book Liberty Under the Soviets. To most, anything besides the conclusion that liberty under the Soviets did not exist is counter-intuitive. Baldwin, however, looked to the Soviet Union as a sort of “superprogressive” state. In addition to Baldwin’s ties with members of the Communist Party USA, William Z. Foster and Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, two of the first board members of the ACLU, would later become card-carrying Communists.

1. "a bunch of Wal*Mart shopping goobers..." This is not the greatest way to endear yourself to your audience, as many of us here applaud the Minuteman Project.

2. Again, many of us at this forum are NOT happy with Bush's lack of action at the borders or calling fellow citizens "vigilantes" while standing next to Vincente Fox. Other than taking the issue into our hands, as the Minuteman Project folks are now doing, what would you suggest we do other than contact the administration and our so-called representatives in WA.

3. What are YOU doing about the border problem?

4. Are you going to tell us, with a straight face, that Kerry would have done anything about the border problem. He has accomplished nothing and blows with the wind.

And by the way... as a card carrying member of the ACLU, do you agree with your co-members who feel it is the American citizen who needs to be monitored at the borders and not the ILLEGAL... not undocumented, not immigrant... border crosser? Why doesn't the ACLU protect the Constitutional rights of the American citizen to patrol its borders?

ACLU = American Communist Lovers Union

Every day, the headlines scream with some new threat from the American Civil Liberties Union. I believe it's important to look behind the curtain and discover the origins of groups and organizations to better understand their activities.

The ACLU was founded in the 1920s by Roger Baldwin and Crystal Eastman, described as a "progressive" and "the perfect feminist."

Earl Browder was general secretary of the Communist Party of the United States from 1930 through its dissolution in 1944. When the party was reconstituted as the Communist Political Association later that year, Browder was chosen as its president. Browder proudly proclaimed that the ACLU functioned as "a transmission belt" for the party. To deny the ACLU's founding was attached at the hip to communist organizations is to deny what can easily be proven as truth.

It's a probalem and has been a problem for both political parties for a long time. No one here claims that it's not. Republicans are trying to play nice with the illegals to build on a small Hispanic voter base, while the democrats keep buying their votes with taxpayer money and free healthcare.

VictimImmature if you ask me.

Excuse me, ACLU puke. Your representatives are in Arizona as the welcoming committee and protectors of the illegal aliens. Who the hell are you kidding? We don't like it that the president is not doing what he should be doing to solve the problem, but whatever shortcomings he has in that area ----- YOU ARE THE BASTARDS WHO HAVE BEEN TEARING DOWN ALL THE INSTITUTIONS OF MY COUNTRY. Actually, given the choice of removing 1000 leftist ACLU attorneys or 1000 illeglas, I would remove you. I curse your moustache.

Yes it was but for some it is just a convenient issue they use to attack the President. If it wasn't immigration, it would be something else.

So, it doesn't matter to you that President Bush is wrong in this matter? IT IS AGAINST THE LAW. When he is right, I'm the first to sing praises about him, but when he's wrong, I'm NOT going to overlook it. This is NO trivial matter. It could cost many American lives, and instead of doing what he took an oath to do, he's encouraging it. I voted for him twice because I believed he REALLY cared about Americans, but I feel very betrayed.

Sorry, but card carrying ACLU liberals get zotted every time they show up here. Otherwise, we'd be overrun with them. And most of them probably do have at least one valid point sometime in their miserable lives. But that doesn't mean I'm going to be sharing warm showers with them (plagiarized).

Bush was governor of Texas and knows the reality. The borders cannot and never will be sealed. Until global conditions improve (something the Left is thoroughly ambivalent about with the notable exception of Abu Ghraib) human beings will clamor desperately to get into this country. The global tidal wave of human beings desperate to be free from unbearable conditions cannot and should not be stopped.

More importantly, the refusal to plunge the nation into a costly impossible sealing of the border --Bush's position on borders blows a massive hole in the left wing conspiracy theory that Bush is so paranoid about security that he will destroy all civil liberties in the quest.

Why don't you email Hillary and see if she will take up your cause?

Cmon, the ACLU isn't evil incarnate, folks...

The ACLU sided with Rush Limbaugh when his medical records were grabbed by the police after he was found popping pills.
They sided with Jerry Falwell against a Virginia ban on incorporation of churches.
They just fought a proposed ban on Baptisms in public rivers in Stafford County, Virginia.
They helped wn a settlement with Utica, MI Community School district over censoring a student's yearbook entry which contained a passage from the Bible.
Along with the US Chamber of Commerce, they protested the McCain-Feingold campaign law because it unfairly limited CORPORATE free speech.

What they do is all about precedent. Ban a Nazi from march, and later your own free speech could be at risk from that very same decision. Let the police grab Rush Limbaugh's medical records, and someone could legally grab yours tomorrow. I don't agree with everything they come up with by a LONG SHOT, but I see them protecting us from ourselves. Boy, do we need a little protection.
