Heckuva play by Tino...

He's juice they need.

ITMT, Sturtze was dominant (how many runs will Gordon give up when he enters?)

Gordon will be okay.

....until playoff time.

Glad they kept Tanyon around; he'll end up in the starting rotation by mid-season, imo.

Sorry, but MLB is FUBAR.

Thing is, it's ALWAYS been "FUBAR'ed" in some form, dating all the way back to the Black Sox scandal. It's a game that survives and indeed thrives despite the powers that run the game.

All will be well in The Universe when the Yanks win the World Series again.

....and not before.

The beginning of the 12-step process has begun: Yanks in 1st; Botox in last.

I thought Wakefield should have gotten the nod last night. And what's so admirable about a pitcher who doesn't walk players if that means he sends meatball pitches right across the plate? Even the outs he got were hard hit. But, you know the how the Yankees are-- World Champs of the Spring. They always get hung up in October.

Nah it was good to see what wells had. Pitching concerns me a little this year. we will have to see how clement and millar do. Wells will be ok he will give 25-30 starts and we need him to do about a 14-10 record to make up for lowe last year. We will score plenty of runs for him

I would like to have seen more from Boomer last night - even though it was a cold, crappy evening. He had no location and didn't fool anyone with his motion. Jeez, even I know not to step off the rubber with the foot that's on it first. Not that the relief staff looked much better. And if your top 3 hitters take an 0-fer, you're not gonna have a good evening in any event. Oh well, first game jitters and all, I think the Sox have a solid lineup, and when Schilling comes back, they'll be fine.

Apparently, of active MLBers, Johnny Damon has the very worst Opening Day batting average.
