I lean more Libertarian than Republican but still vote GOP for 2 reasons:
1) Open borders at this time of war is not such a great idea.
2) Ron Paul is a Republican. You have to be in office to make a difference.
Unfortunately, remember what happened with Ross Perot's Reform Party. A lot of people dedicated themselves to that party, and after two elections, it fizzled out into an unimportant fringe group.
I have been a dedicated Pubbie for as long as I can remember (which goes back to about 7 years old on the campaign trail for my Grandfather). I have been totally and completely disgusted by most of the moves made by Pubbies in Congress today. I always thought Pubbies stood for smaller government, yet we have the most outrageous, bloated government in history today.
I thought Pubbies stood for gun rights, yet the anti-gunners are still winning out. With the Pubbies in control of all branches, you would think something would get done, but no, we continue the slide into nothingness. Part of me longs for the days of gridlock. At least then we know nothing major will happen (although the weak Pubbies we have in Congress now would most likely hand a win over to the Dems anyhow).
Yep. Third party challenge gave us Clinton #1. Another third party challenge will give us Clinton #2.

I will tell you this, from now on, if I have a choice between some leftist and a Republican who does not have the grapes to stand up to minor judges in life and death situations, I will not vote. I will never vote for the left, but I'll be dammed if I ever vote for another Republican who will not stand for something besides his/her own career.

We have to continue to push to reform (i.e., overhaul) the judicial system, it's quite obvious that it's broken. And we have the votes to get started.

I think we just jumped to the right..and added a bunch of folks..we were on the right side....we are on the right side....Heck..even Jessee Jackson knows it...Republicans will kick butt in the next elections
No, there is not a huge segment.
There are a few ... some of them nutcases.
Ross Perot tapped into that segment and it got us one Clinton.
You people tapping into it could get us another.

Even though I'm a constitutionalist, I believe that a vote for a third party empowers the move toward constitutionalism.
Such parties should work as a group within another party.
After all, a third party gave us Clinton as president.
Constitution party (Michael Peroutka) is where it's at.

Up to a point, then he did the Pontius Pilate routine and washed his hands. He refused the request of the parent's to use his ordinary powers as governor to take her into custody.

I wouldn't blame anybody who would leave the GOP over this. However there were some republicans(feds) who fought a good fight for Terri and what they were doing should not go unnoticed.
i.e. a loOser.
My thoughts do not include trying to destroy the only
party that can stop the terror of the left wing in
America. I AM certain those on the left enjoy reading
thoughts about dividing the Republican party.
This really poses a theological question:
Suppose we pull out of the republican party and form a life party. Maybe we win, maybe we don't, but if we don't, then we know (hope) we have voted for good. In doing so the greater of two evils prevails, and more harm is done.
However, I would preface that by saying when did our Lord ever compromise truth to gain more followers, lower the bar to allow more into paradise? When did our Lord ever comment on politics, or focus on changing Rome to make a better world? Change the man, change the world, that's probably how it's done? Politics is a reflection of the soul of man.
I think you need to settle down.
It is the Republicans that tried to save Terri's life.
