I do admit that having Randall Terry there made me uncomfortable.

Randall Terry is a blessing to the left.....because he gives credibility to their screams of fear about Christianity. He is the arrows in their quiver, so to speak. :)

let's see...

pros....Randall knows how to stir up publicity
Randall know how to rally the troops and stage affective demonstrations
Randall is passionate and relentlessly energetic
Randall does not mince words. He calls a spade a spade.

Cons... Randall has an image that will always follow him.
Randall is not a constitutional expert - something the Schindlers really really needed.
Randall's presence confirmed to the opposition this is about wacko Jesus freaks and not about civil rights.

Does anyone here have any better suggestions?
As far as I know - Randall lives in this area and was instrumental in convincing Jeb to come up with Terri's law.
His presence has bought her some time.
Sometimes you don't get the "perfect" choice. Sometimes you do the best you can with what you've got.
Maybe this guy could do better, but my hat is off to him for the effort he put in. Afterall...who else offered up their time and money?

Were the Schindlers and Terri Schiavo served well by Randall Terry?

No.

Perhaps we should wait to see the remainder of this story to decide.

From what i've seen of him on TV he's done a great job. Why would the Shindlers want a little soft spoken wimp? He tells it like it is. It should be "uncomfortable" for some piss ants to hear him. Look what Terri's going through and then we'll talk about being "uncomfortable".

Randall Terry is SUCH a hot button to the left, I tend to think he probably wasn't a "help" except maybe to the family. Certainly the MSM hates him and portrays him in the worst light possible.

I honestly don't know much about him, or if he's much of a lawyer. Seems like a lot of the commentary has been that he blew it at the Federal level big time.

But he is not the only one who blew it, and by that I mean that Terri is being starved to death. Has anybody else been more effective then this lawyer at putting a stop to this atrocity?

I will not lay blame at the feet of those who tried, but rather, those who did not.

Now is the time to pray for Terri and the Schindlers. How ironic it is that the name Schindler also belonged to a man who did everything he could to prevent atrocities exactly as we are witnessing now some 60 years later. I do believe that the Schindlers have lived up to that standard.

Now is the time to pray. When that time has passed, then we better all try to live up to that good Schindler name and protect those who cannot protect themselves from such evil.

If not, I shudder to think of the consequences.

We do not know what Terri would want for sure. I certainly do not believe that two of her in-laws are a more credible witness then her mother or one of her old friends. Their testimony counted for nothing because Judge Greer made a mistake. A life and death mistake!

And it was not to late to correct that. But apparently he did not think it was a big deal. That is sick. Starving her to death is sick.

Let us pray for Terri Shiavo. But after that, let us heal this sickness. We did it before. We can do it again. We have to.

I know this is a little off your exact topic, but I am trying so hard to think of something that might create some way for someone to stop this killing.

I just sent this fax to Gov. Bush. Now, be nice...no criticism of Bush allowed. This is not for battle. We must all refrain from being negative and hope he can still do something. I hope this helps:

March 28, 2005
The Honorable Jeb Bush, Governor Florida

Urgent: To Save Terri Schiavo

Dear Governor Bush:

Please consider this comment:

Could Terri be saved by a contest that she was psychologically imbalanced when she allegedly said she did not want to live on life support? Could this be challenged now to try to save her life?

Consider this:

Last night Geraldo Rivera on FOX News had a segment where he interviewed a woman who is a specialist who deals with bulimia. The reason was is that this is the condition that is being purported to be the cause of Terri’s heart stoppage. I offer these thoughts:

1. The original diagnosis for Terri's death was nutritional deficiency/bulimia.

2. Later Michael Schiavo won a lawsuit because the doctors mis-diagnosed her and did not recognize the bulimia problem.

3. Schiavo supporters and the media are continuing to offer this as the cause of her "collapse."

Ok...the question – and a possible way to get her a new court hearing, and stop this starvation/dehydration:

1. Bulimia is, basically, a psychological disorder. Bulimics have a very poor self-image; they feel they need to be perfect; many are never cured because the psychosis is so deep. They often die from this psychosis and the eating disorder it causes.

2. In that state of psychologically connected obsession, how could anyone's comment, about such a serious issue as life support could be considered rational?

3. Most medical professionals agree that those afflicted with this disorder are not mentally healthy, often are depressed, irrational.

4. How can any legal system support the desires of a woman who was, evidently, psychologically unbalanced at the time of the "supposed" comment?

If they are going to insist this as the cause, couldn’t it be insisted that the Court be forced to revisit this case, because the decision by Judge Greer did not consider her mental state?

God bless Terri. God bless you for your efforts.

It is grotesque and absurd for people to be carrying on about Randall Terry while a woman is being murdered by the Governor of Florida and the President of the U.S. Whatever his faults, Randall Terry is not a murderer.

Should the Schindlers have picked someone other than Randall Terry to represent them?

Did they have any other choices? Who else would go to bat for them like that?

What success or failure should be credited to Randall Terry?

I heard him several times, and he did the best he could I thought. I certainly don't see him as a failure. The deck was stacked against them all from the git go.

Randall Terry hurt them. It is my opinion that some high profile federal lawyers were set to step in and help when Terry showed up. None of them would want to be connected once Terry came on the scene. They would be tained forever.
