At the time Terri supposedly said "no tubes" (1985 or 1986)
feeding tubes were not an issue. Neither were they an issue at the time of her collapse. Neither was the term "tubes" in refernce to pulling LIFE SUPPORT popular then. The controversy then was regarding heart and lung machines and the common phraseology regarding Life Support was "machines."
