Jeb, go for it, you have the right and the duty to enforce the will of Congress.
Everyone shrieked when Elian was kidnapped...
he has nothing to lose now. my respect for him dissipated days ago.
It's been 10 days already.
Also wasn't that subpeona squashed by the courts?
It's all so tragic but it's over, now.
Of course, you already knew that.
I didn;'t realize that it was the duty of state governors to enforce federal congressional supoeanas...
But maybe that's just me....
Jeb won't do squat. His office already said they have exhausted all legal avenues. I have had it with both Bush's. GW should has locked up those judges for contempt of Congress. Jeb blew his chance on Wednesday when he failed to act on having DCF take custody of Terri. Jeb will have to live both personally and politically for having Terri die on his watch. IMHO
Sorry, but what role does a state official have in enforcing a Congressional order? If Congress really wants her, there are US Marshals, FBI and God only knows how many other flavors of federal muscle.
Jeb should get her convicted of murder. Then all those pulling for her death would be stating this is cruel and unsual punishment.
Where the heck is that written?!
His conceptual framework includes the notion that court orders are final.
That's a happy place for an electoral politician to be, it usually means they can denounce the courts, make the people think they are on their side, and do nothing in the end.
You know, I don't blame him all that much.
I don't blame Pius XII either, all that much-he had many things to take care of amid the chaos of Nazi Europe.
But I believe Pius XII passed on sainthood, and I think Jeb just passed on higher office.
So it goes.
"Terry, by fighting for her life..."
Yep. It's a battle between a Living Will...and a Will to Live. I'm beginning to think it's obvious were Terri stands after 15 years.
It's time for Terri to go. ENOUGH!
