Jeb's last Chance
jpsb

Posted on 03/27/2005 3:23:49 PM PST by jpsb

Terry by fighting for her life, has given Jeb one last change. Congress has ordered Terry to appear before them tomorrow. Jeb can enforce that order by siezing Terry and bringing her to D.C. Clearly that his right.

You are just setting him up for the sole purpose of trashing him later.

You think he won't be trashed by the Demos, Media other Countries???

They are silently waiting in the backgroud for Terri to die.

I think you better worry about them more than Freepers.

There will be movies about every facet of this fiasco.

Yours is not an original idea by any stretch of the imagination.

Do you think that Congress can send federal agents in order to execute a completely legal subpeona?

This is a no brainer for Jeb, all he has to do is enforce he will of the Congress. President Bush could do the same. If they don't then we will know that they were just playing plots and the government will fall.Even Jesse Jackson and Lanny Davis are on board, the entire nation is screaming for action.

Thank you for posting that.

Several people jumped on me yesterday for saying that this parent was irresponsible and grandstanding.

Turns out, I was giving the guy entirely too much credit.

Do you folks not see the folly and hypocrisy of demanding that Jeb kidnap Terri Schiavo or otherwise take her into custody without any legal authority, when we all agree that what Janet Reno did to Elian Gonzales was so wrong? If you want anarchy and vigilanteism, just come right out and say so. Stop blaming the president or his brother for things that are beyond their jurisdication. This is not a dictatorship, but it sure sounds like some of you who claim to care about Terri want exactly that.

What have you done to initiate changes in the Right to Live laws? What? Tell me.

The right to life is recognized as a basic inalienable right in the Supreme Law of the Land. It needn't be changed. It need be enforced. And enforcement requires fortitude. I can't make my representatives have wisdom and fortitude. I can only vote for the ones who make me believe that they do have it.

Do you think anything you're doing here is helping Terri Schiavo one iota?

Why can't Jeb, or the knight of Columbus for that matter, enforce a subpoena from the United State Congress?

"without any legal authority"

The legal authority is the Congress of the United States of America. The Congress of the USA ORDERED Terry to appear this monday. Why are you so insistant that Terry die?

"Terry, by fighting for her life..."

Yep. It's a battle between a Living Will...and a Will to Live. I'm beginning to think it's obvious were Terri stands after 15 years.

if the concept of inalienable rights is a platitude to you, you just don't get it. you're the beneficiary of men much, much bigger than you. you ought to thank your gods for that.

He has plenty of legal authority. Check out the Consitution of the State of Florida, emphasis added so you don't miss the important parts:

Article 1, Section 2.
Basic rights.--
All natural persons, female and male alike,
are equal before the law and have inalienable rights,
among which are the right to enjoy and defend life
and liberty, to pursue happiness, to be rewarded for
industry, and to acquire, possess and protect property;
except that the ownership, inheritance, disposition
and possession of real property by aliens ineligible
for citizenship may be regulated or prohibited by law.
No person shall be deprived of any right because of
race, religion, national origin, or physical disability.

Don't be naive. And stop repeating the "he has no authority" line when the most basic inspection of the governing law of the state of Florida gives him not only the authority but the obligation to act in this case.

He doesn't act because he doesn't want to act. There is no law authorizing a judge to issue an order of starvation and there is a constitutional guarantee that no one in the state of Florida shall be denied the right to life based on physical disability.

Console yourself with lies if it makes you feel better, but do us all a favor and don't poison others against this innocent woman whose murder is imminient. The "law" that is being followed is not the one the Constitution specifies as the legitimate law of the land, but the unwritten modern law that the judiciary is supreme, a charade this country bought hook, line, and sinker from the unanimous agreement of a socialist press.
