My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Oh I forgot to add, this year my Lilac bush is covered with blooms. First year for that. The bush is 10 years old.

How beautiful and lush! That fern has always been my favorite.
To: laurenmarlowe
The same year.
See the fern against the fence, it's going to be like that this year.

Oh, Ms. Feather, I think it is very dreamy!

Good place to write. That's where Glenn Gaul Way came from. I sat out there one day the the new world of the Glenn came to me.

I remember your poem. I can picture your haven as being a lovely place to sit and write.

Good night to all who enter the Lair.
May you find peace, love and joy from your visit.

Twenty Third Psalm
The Lord is my shepherd: I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green Pastures, he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake,
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me, thy rod and staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Today is my daughters graduation from college.
I get to be the very very proud dad. :-)
Advice to a Graduate
To live a successful life
Does not require
Money, fame, power, prestige
Or status symbols...
It's more a matter of
Being true to your beliefs and principles,
Doing your best,
Even in the smallest of things,
And never taking for granted
The simple joys in life -
Such as laughter, a perfect day,
Or a loyal friend.
For all the money in the world
Can't buy self-esteem, character,
Contentment, love or happiness -
And these are the very things
That make life
Worth living.
However you define
Happiness and success,
May you find and enjoy them
Every day of your life.

Life's Rules
Life is not fair. Get used to it.
If you think your teacher is tough, wait until you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure.
Life is not divided into semesters, and you won't get summers off.
Very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.
Your school may have done away with winners and losers but life has not.
In some schools they have abolished failing grades; they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This, of course, doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Sorry, but you won't make $40,000 a year right out of College.
And you won't be a vice president with a car phone until you earn both.
Flipping burgers is NOT beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping; they called it opportunity.
If you mess up it's not your parent's fault. Don't whine about your mistakes. Learn from them.
The real world won't care about your self-esteem. It'll expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
Before you were born your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning up your room and listening to you tell them how idealistic you are.
Smoking does not make you look cool. It makes you look moronic.
You are not immortal.
Always say "Thank You," even if you don't mean it.
You may be an idiot, but try not to be stupid.
Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.
People not to talk back to: 1) Your teacher; 2) 1st Sergeants; 3) The police; 4) Your mama.
Love, Dad

The Parents of a Graduate
The parents of a graduate
Have much they should be proud of.
All ought to congratulate
Not our work, but their love.
Know that you have made me, me;
You shape my efforts still.
Only your sincerity
Underlies my will.
