My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

my pain was yours
and I loved you in tears
and your anguish a wellspring
of pain that ached to be touched
I remember such day, such times
sobbing and aching in all of the rhymes,
a graveyard of broken-hearted dreams was all we saw.
The love and tears there were,
healing the hurts and holding the cares
and the woes, and as time passed,
it was okay to feel thigs once more.
And now? Now, look at me!
The hero I always wished I could be,
daring and caring, and finery wearing,
sweeping the room witrh panache and with you!
And who should be there,
where things were supposed to be,
My fine White Lady,
She and me, for all to see!!!

The love and tears there were,
healing the hurts and holding the cares
and the woes, and as time passed,
it was okay to feel things once more.
I turned to you for the healing
of loneliness that left me reeling
and found you could not accept my love
you did not know how to love...
you're constantly embarrassed to hear the words
I am strapped to do anything about
the unfeeling condition that is uniquely yours, not uniquely human.
Oh yes, there are midnight strolls with you
and flying to another place of contentment
and starry eyes and smooth music
but the soul boogie is lacking
empty arms are aching while off to battle
you saunter as is the way for a man as you.
To protect the young, the old, the disabled
the sacred documents of our nation, of freedom,
and liberty.
For that is the honorable man that you are.
So sometimes empty arms and moonlit nights
are all I have to hang on to.
To: bentfeather

If I had ever forgotten how to love,
it was YOU who showed me the way to return
to that state of light and life.
If I had ever forgotten how to sing
of these places of bliss and beauty,
it was YOU whose gentle hands guided me along
the garden's path of stones and boughs.
Keep the moonlight close to you,
hold my letters alongside you,
clasp my token tight against your heart
because yours is close to mine.
If my dance is not to liking,
not for lack of thought or trying
leads your conlusions - nor your sadness
should be allowed to be, on such
a night like this.
I would give you arms, and not Arms
I would give you nights, not hours,
I would give you all, not some -
as much as I could - but the
waiting is all....

Thanks Star, it's a little easier to dance in The Lair. A little too, noisy sometimes in the Canteen.
I know you will understand.

If I taught you how to love
it was an easy thing to do
a willing student is what's needed friend
to cast the magic brew
and if I taught you how to weep
tis the same thing there
the human heart is a precious thing
to covet and to care.

Noon

Hot sun beating down.
Hot dust under bare feet.
Lizards hide beneath cool rocks.
The breeze is stilled.
Birds are silent.
Sleeping clouds hang above.
Work waits for dinner.
Cattle doze beside lazy streams.
Men shuffle back to the fields.
Afternoon begins.
