My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

"Dee Day"
'Twas at the feeder, one misty morn
I found myself there filling.
Seeds from the seedy, unkempt, unshorn,
And yet still there most willing.
I scratch my stubble, and yawn, and moan,
And stretch a back that's aching.
A shuffling zombie, I'm twilight zoned,
So soon out after waking.
But I'm not alone, it startles me,
This voice from out the greenery:
"Chicka dee dee dee", said he, said he,
"Chicka dee. Dee dee? Dee dee?"
Now I'm wide awake, somewhat chagrinned,
At my unclean appearance
With my hair unwashed, my teeth sleep skinned,
And clothes that look like clearance.
For my companion is smartly dressed,
With fine black cap well fitting,
And his dapper greys upon his breast,
As about the leaves, he's flitting.
"I've brought your peanuts. I've brought cracked corn.
My sunflower seeds need shelling.
I've thistle and millet, so toot your horn,
Your slender ranks need swelling."
"Chicka dee dee dee." Said he, to me.
"I'll not spill seeds by singing,
All the more dee dee, for me, for me,
No other beaks need bringing!"
So out reached my hand, palm encumbered,
With sunflower seeds all brimming,
To entice my friend, with seeds unnumbered,
That set his eyes a-glimming.
"Chicka dee dee dee?" Asked he, of me,
"What fee-bee there for eating?"
"Little chickadee, the seed is free,
But my hand must be your seating."
So he approached me, though nervously,
My offer in his considering,
Chicking and chirping, querulously,
And on the verge of skittering.
But alack, alas, it came to pass,
When from me, was he, but inches,
He was distracted, though bold as brass,
By the song of feeding finches.
"Chicka dee dee dee!" said he "I flee,
As though on high winds gusting!
For the finches fare is also free,
And the feeder needs no trusting."
Though disappointed, I'm grateful still,
To witness nature's splendor,
So I'm contented, for its God's will,
That I should be their vendor.

Awww, one of my favorite birds!!
I don't get birds anymore, :-(.
The large shrubs were cut down last year for renovations on the manse. No shelter for the birds. The Dee's used to flit around in those shrubs. Then the squirrels chewed up my redwood birdseed holder. I got discouraged feeding the danged squirrels and stopped buying seed.
Nothing as cheerier as a Chickadee.
Well, good poem today!
Thanks for all and have a great day.
Sunny here, but cool.

April is Poetry Month
I Dream'd I Lay by Robert Burns
I dream'd I lay where flowers were springing Gaily in the sunny beam; List'ning to the wild birds singing, By a falling crystal stream: Straight the sky grew black and daring; Thro' the woods the whirlwinds rave; Tress with aged arms were warring, O'er the swelling drumlie wave.
Such was my life's deceitful morning, Such the pleasures I enjoyed: But lang or noon, loud tempests storming A' my flowery bliss destroy'd. Tho' fickle fortune has deceiv'd me- She promis'd fair, and perform'd but ill, Of mony a joy and hope bereav'd me- I bear a heart shall support me still.

You A Shadow
You a shadow
I watched awakening
to a summer desire
something you cried for
is my love.
Will you regret sending
me into dusk?
I never laughed again.

Spring's Ways By Savannah Skye
Spring enters as Winter exits
Exits as Spring's ways enter
enter with...
Spring's breath...
warm
Warm caresses upon my skin
while...
Spring's ambience...
frees
Frees my soul that has been locked up in Winter's cold cage
when...
Spring's Morning...
enters
Enters upon the morning's rising sun
while...
Spring's flowers
color
Color me with shades of pinks, purples, reds, yellows and blues
as they...
Kiss me
with...
Their colors of love
as...
Spring days...
arrive
Arrive on warm breezes that wake me
to...
Spring's beautiful
flowers
Flowers of colors that kiss my soul
before...
Spring's evening...
enters
Enters upon the night's rising moon
when...
Spring's soothing...
ambience
Will soothe my soul
with...
Spring's cool...
warm
That touches nite upon my skin
then exits...
Spring exits as Summer enters
Enters as Spring's ways exit

A Map Of Love
Your face more than others' faces
Maps the half-remembered places
I have come to I while I slept
Continents a dream had kept
Secret from all waking folk
Till to your face I awoke,
And remembered then the shore,
And the dark interior.
