My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

You're welcome, ms. feather.
I snapped that one last night while standing on the deck.
Once I got it in the computer and got a good look at it, posting it here was my first thought. :-)

The photography is great. Each and every petal shows clearly.
Dogwoods are truly beautiful trees.

It's all in using your eyes with a camera, which is a lot easier than sketching. All you do is squeeze the button. LOL!
My hands just don't seem to want to put what I see onto a piece of paper. My sketches are definitely primitive.
I've seen some of your work and am I ever jealous! Stunning, to say the least.

LOL!
I'm jealous of people who can use cameras.
My attempts at using a camera are best described in this way: A monkey banging two rocks together and hooting.
The images I take are grainy and diffuse, and that was with a digital camera.
(I seem to have 'talent' for making technology do things it was never meant to do, like autofocus not working.)
*chuckle*
So I see pics taken by you, Gran and Valerie from Dimensional Doors, and am envious in a way.

For every decent pic I manage to get, MANY more were taken.
I took about 15 shots of the dogwood last night to get that one good one.
Everyone has their particular talents and it's that variety which makes life interesting. If we could all do the same things, life would get boring in a hurry! LOL!

Thank you for your wonderful poetry! I have very much enjoyed reading them.
To: radu
Ummmm... I'd burn up at least 150 shots before giving up.
*chuckle*
But the basic ideas of form and composition are the same.
*shrugs*
Well, heading off to bed, see you in the morning.

Sharing
I did not know I thirsted, before you brought me drink.
A world of hidden, secret thoughts, was all that I could think.
The bread of your companionship has filled me to the core,
And now I think I understand what friendship is here for.
My world was one of loneliness. Am I the only one?
But with your cheery friendship, I learned there could be fun.
I cast my seeds in wider ways than I have ever known,
And send the net out presently, to draw in what Ive sown.
My world has grown, and joy has found a way to get inside.
I had no thought that I would find the world become my bride.
My heart has also swelled in scope, a garden lives there now.
And all these things occurred to me, because of you, somehow.
My friends who touch me with their words, can reach into my heart,
And find a way to thrill my soul, that Ive become a part,
Of something bigger than myself, a movement grand and slow,
More ponderous and possible than what I thought Id know.

A Cat Named Joe
There's a cat named Joe and you wouldn't want to know
But he thinks he'd like to be a Hippopotamus
And it sounds very strange, and he really wants to change
And in that way he's just like a lot of us
Oh, it wouldn't be so bad if he was certified as mad
But he's not... he holds a normal conversation
It's just that within he's in a different kind of skin
And it causes him a lot of botheration
An identity crisis in a bloke like that
Has got to get a high consideration
At times we're all like that, the hippo and the cat
And it can make for very strange conversation
You see, Joe can't swim... it's just not natural to him
He gets his fur wet and whiskers out of shape
And a hippo feels a dud unless he's wallowing in mud
With his big toothy mouth all agape
But you look into Joe's eyes and know he loves the shape and size
Of his big, round cousin in the water
So he sits by the river with his heart all a-quiver
Wanting what he really shouldn't oughta
An identity crisis in a bloke like that
Has got to get a high consideration
At times we're all like that, the hippo and the cat
I guess we'd sometimes like to change our situation.
