My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Morning Sam!!
Taxing Blues got to you today??
I am so glad I am no longer a property owner in this city. The streets are in disrepair, Law Enforcement runs around arresting dog lease law offenders for not showing up in court, county government puts their bony fingers deeper into the tax payers pocket. But we have the most touchy feely group of folks one would want to meet. ARGH!!!!!
Thanks for tunes, coffee and donuts.

Quote of the Day
The business of life is to go forwards; he who sees evil in
prospect meets it in his way; but he who catches it by
retrospection turns back to find it. That which is feared
may sometimes be avoided, but that which is regretted today
may be regretted again tomorrow.

Sweet presentation!! LOL!!
I have a favorite scrapbooking website that has a page filled with little ditty poems like that. I'll try to share some with ya - there are also a LOT of really moving ones there, too, and if I can get through some of them without bawling, I'll post them once in a while, too. *HUGS!*

Direction to a Butterfly
Directions to a butterfly o silent chrysalis downward wafting to fly noiselessly alone your frail solitary love is directing your life's wings
Witness... a warm sunny direction accept this desire and know... instinct is against the wind.

Golden in my eyes
precious ruby of my heart
you will always be the diamond
of my day... the sapphire of dusk...
my pearl of my dawn
the zephyr breezes of Spring
the star dust of midnight
on the fairies wing
a golden nectar sweeter
than honey and more precious
than all the worlds money.

The Giraffe

Giraffes are lucky they're so tall;
They make us humans feel so small.
They simply look down on us all.
Those elegant giraffes.
They'll eat the leaves from topmost bough,
Which only lengthy necks allow,
Then graze between their feet somehow.
Those picturesque giraffes.
But one thing we can not ignore;
I've thought of this oft times before.
How dreadful if their throats got sore!
Those lengthy necked giraffes.

Good morning, Lair!
The Storm
by Sarah Teasdale
I thought of you when I was wakened
By a wind that made me glad and afraid
Of the rushing, pouring sound of the sea
That the great trees made.
One thought in my mind went over and over
While the darkness shook and the leaves were thinned --
I thought it was you who had come to find me,
You were the wind.

CUTE poem!!
Yesterday I took the kids to the zoo. The ostirches and griaffes are in the same pen. This one ostrich kept packing at a giraffes tail and the giraffe would whack him upside the head, but back in he'd go again! It was hysterical! The only thing we could figure is that the giraffe had somehow sat down in the ostriches food and got it caught in his tail! LOL!!

Some Mother's Son
Author: |
Tommy Lee James & Maribeth Derry |
Freedom needs a soldier... A nameless, faceless one. A young girl's lover, A baby's father, Some mother's son.
She lays awake in a silent room Holding his picture, washed silver by the moon. Oceans away, he feels her sigh. So alone in the world tonight...
Too young to know his daddy's gone, He hears them say his mother must be strong. So he pretends, like children do. He likes to stand in his daddy's shoes.
She closes her eyes and sees him at 3. In her mind, that's the age he'll always be. And only God understands her love... So she prays to the angels up above.
Freedom needs a soldier... A nameless, faceless one. A young girl's lover, A baby's father, Some mother's son. |
