My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

I am the ashes. Ashes. The aftermath of a fire Which once burned out of control And now has cooled. And yet, beneath the ashes Waiting for a new breath Lie the smouldering embers Of love.

Lemme try that again! LOL!
Ashes.
The aftermath of a fire
Which once burned out of control
And now has cooled.
And yet,
beneath the ashes
Waiting for a new breath
Lie the smouldering embers
Of love.

Desire
by Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Where true Love burns Desire is Love's pure flame;
It is the reflex of our earthly frame,
That takes its meaning from the nobler part,
And but translates the language of the heart.
To: StarCMC
Thank you, Star! Really cute poem.
This poet "UNKNOWN" writes a lot of good stuff.
Sweet presentation!! GRIN

Good morning Ms. Feather.
Drifting overhead Making shadows on the ground The clouds swiftly fly.
Soft, gentle breezes Set tall grasses gracefully Dancing in the wind.
Warm and cold winds flirt Announcing the start of spring Buds will soon appear.

"A Tax Poem"

I don't understand it,
I can't figure why,
There's no escapin' taxes
'Cept if and when I die.
Grandpa always said it,
"There's just two things for sure
That's death and payin' taxes;
And one's the other's cure."
You try to make improvements,
Your taxes escalate.
You let the whole thing go to pot,
They'll simply raise your rate.
You want to spruce things up a bit
But you'll be penalized.
They'll jack your taxes higher,
So don't you be surprised.
It don't make a lick of sense
To tax a piece of land
From Genesis 'til doomsday
Just because they can.
If my money was in diamonds
In a safe deposit box,
None would be the wiser--
No tax for this sly fox.
But I can't lock my land up
Or move it out of sight
So they'll just keep on taxin it
And that just don't seem right.
My farm is just a rock pile,
Poor dirt and skimpy grazin'.
Don't matter to the tax folks
Who just keep on a raisin'
My ad valorem taxes
To keep pace with expenses
And at current levels,
Won't pay to fix my fences.
What's a guy like me to do
If he can't win for losin'?
Seems everthang is goin' down
But taxes--that's confusin'!
Land our way is bringin' less
Than land ten years ago
And the prices cows are brangin'
May hit an all-time low.
Ag value is essential,
(Or else my goose is cooked,)
On what my land produces
Not on the way it looks.
A sales tax wouldn't be so bad
I Think it's be more fair
'Cause everyone who benefits
Should kick in his fair share.
But I ain't for no sales tax
Until we first repeal
Our ad valorem taxes,
Or we may get a deal
Where we get stuck with both
Of 'em, and that ain't gonna fly,
Payin' a tax for ownin' land
On top of what you buy...
Yep, two thangs I can count on
Just like my Grandpa spoke,
"You'll keep on payin' taxes, son,
Until the day you croak!"
