IF JEB BUSH DOEN'T ACT QUICKLY TO SAVE TERRY SCHIAVO, HIS POLLITICAL CARREER IS FINISHED!!
The wierd mind of gonzo ^ | march 24, 2005 | gonzo

If Terri dies when she could actually be kept alive, and Jeb Bush doesn't use the State Police or the Florida National Guard, or ANYTHING to prevent this travesty, he will be vilified by the democRATS if he ever seeks another office (like the Presidency).

It means nothing that some democRATS are actually trying to keep her alive. The only thing that the MSM will hammer on is that he stood by AS Governor and allowed that poor woman to DIE when he could have prevented it.

Exactly, well said. Emotions can be blinding to some.

We should consider the fact that even if attempts to save Terri fail and she does in fact die, there may be a higher purpose in her death.

The fact that this case is so high profile might mean that even with her death, things might put set in place that serve a purpose larger than we can comprehend right now.

God's will is going to be done. We just don't know what means right now.

"see the US president and his brother showing no respect for the rule of law"

I would like to see one or both of them go personally with only their bodyguards, with an ambulance on the street, and walk in with the gurney beside him and walk out with Terri on the gurney and get into the ambulance with her and drive away. THAT would be breaking the rule of law??

Remember that pic when GW Bush grabbed his bodyguard and said, he's with me? It resonated. A guy in charge who is not going to be stopped from common sense action.

He could say, she's with me.

I don't believe that anyone suggested prayer was enough. But it is vital, according to the Lord's word, whether you agree or disagree.

"Those of us that are able to love Terri, but still able to see past our emotion are pretty much a minority aren't we?"

People are misinformed. So many get on tv and say she's brain dead, brain is liquified, etc. It irks me to no end.

Please keep in mind that the socialists, communists, and leftist in general just giggle with glee when they hear such talk.

I don't care. It needs to be said.

These individuals, in my humble opinion, do not reflect the values of the majority of Americans

Not sure about that. The poll today on the front pages of newspapers said 61% of Americans essentially agreed with Greer's position.

I'm getting concerned that Terri will be saved from death but end up with kidney failure caused by dehydration. This case reminds me of the Loma Prieta earthquake in the SF Bay Area in 1989. This poor guy eneded up trapped in a concrete sandwich inside a collapsed freeway and it took about six days to free him from the concrete. He was still alive but his kidneys had failed and he died about a month later. That poor man was outside of course in the October weather which can be warm in Oakland, CA, and that may have dehydrated him faster. But I'm worried that Jeb may save Terri but it will be late and she'll end up on kidney dialysis in addition to her brain damage.

I get the feeling Jeb and his team did not have a plan in place for the scenario where the federal courts rejected the request to rehydrate Terri. Now Jeb's team is scrambling to react to an unexpected situation. Well they should have expected this possibility.

I did not feel bad because of the military operation per se,I felt bad for the action that the military was asked to enforce. The bad of that situation was not the use of force, i was the use of force for an evil purpose.
When the law is unjust, or in this case evil, then justice must triumph over legality, and force can be used to restore justice and defeat evil.
Regarding JBush, I believe he has been a steadfast defender of Terri for years now,and he is proceeding with the best advice to secure relief for Terri.I still believe that in the end he will have to use his executive powers to secure the person of Terri.

It wouldn't be seen that way. They would being saying that Bush has a lot of nerve trying to spread democracy when he behaves like a dictator.

We are trying to teach an entire region to set up rules and follow them. We can't set a different example.

Hi Gonz.

When I was a kid growing up in West Tennessee I remember one day, as I walked down the end of Main Street that was lined by churches, I asked myself..."Where is all the sin these preachers keep talking about?"

In modern day America I find that we're drowning in it - and yet half the population is oblivious.

I guess we mean't it in '92 when, as we elected Clinton for the first term, we declared "Character doesn't count!"

"Why aren't they there already with bottled water?"

I have been wondering that all day myself. One reason I keep trying to figure out what is happening, is to see if I have to drive all the way down there with a bottle of water and a sign.

I think it is because every hour there is something on the horizon that could solve the problem, when in reality the thousands of good Americans with water bottles would do a lot of good, and give courage to the people fighting this, and solidarity with the dying . . .

It is the cliff-hanger nature of this.

His only hope of being a good guy at this point is to take her into custody and get her therapy. Terri would then be able to show the world herself how right he was.

With what he has stated he knows that they are murdering Terri.
I hope he steps up and does the right thing!

It could prove to have been the single moment of his political career that indelibly imprinted his lack of courage for higher office. You either have it or you don't.

Like I said, there REALLY IS a Florida statute that allows him to place an abused adult in protective custody. I'm not making that up. Jeb's lawyer gave the number of the statute and read part of it today. He would not be going outside the law. Now you can disagree if you like but then you're making no sense.

The constitution does so allow for executive orders all the time, like deployment of troops for example or the draft.

My point in bringing up the Elian case is that the democrats don't have good judgment and in some cases are positively evil.

Why would we want to set things up where they can do whatever they want and tell us we have no right to complain because our Bush overruled a law?

They would using this to do exactly the opposite of what you want done.

They will be going into hospitals, nursing homes and hospice centers and yanking tubes out of everybody.

Don't think for a second they wouldn't use this for all sorts of evil purposes.
