It's time for anyone considering retirement in Florida to SERIOUSLY re-think their plans.
There are many other states (and countries, for that matter) where they will be safer from murder under the color of authority when they get a little infirm and inconvienent.
If you are retired in Florida, and you are still able, you might consider getting out while you still can...
Let Florida know killing the inconvenient has economic consequences.

If I were raising young children, I don't know which state I would want to live in. I know I wouldn't stay where I am now unless I could afford to live in a smaller town and raise kids in a middle-class lifestyle.
This might sound odd, but I wouldn't want to be filthy rich and raise kids for a lot of reasons.
Well there's a utopia for you:^
Sorry for the sarcasm, but I'm getting mighty tired of the piling up on Florida.
I've just about lost all sense of humor....especially when folks are calling for boycotts, while 'good Floridians are fighting this battle just as hard as you are, or harder!
No offense, but clean up your own state before you malign mine!
Please stop to consider we too had to endure....not only endure, but show up and protest....the 2000 election....we personally, up close, were there!!
We've just endured, lived through and fought 4.....count them....4!!!! ..hurricanes.
Our economy is hurting.....our roofs are off our houses....
..many of our homes and businesses are destroyed....landmarks are gone.
Sure....finish us off....
..y'all start your little boycott....
..I don't even think we'll miss you, we're too busy cleaning up!
Florida Legislature Is Able To Help Terri - Action Requested.
But you're alive, Guen.
It's like paging in the grocery store. Calling one or several to a thread who might miss it otherwise.
I have no reason to believe it won't.
We appreciate your efforts as they are more effective than those of us who live in other states.
My perception stands that Florida is not going to be a safe or healthy place to live in the foreseeable future.
My guess is that some people will start leaving, not just about this latest horror about Terri.
When you put a FReeper's nic in the 'To' box they will see that post when they check 'My posts'.
We borrowed the word ping form the submariners, as a way of letting them know we are trying to get their attention.
Welcome to FR, BTW...
I know what you mean G. People don't realize that FL is the 3rd largest state in terms of people. It has a huge elderly population, millions of immigrants, hundreds of thousands of illegals I would guess and its still growing at a phenomenal rate. What do people expect?
A lot of weird, tragic stuff happens in FL, just like it does in the largest states, CA and NY.
Yeah. NOT!
I just watched a 69 yr old woman get arrested....and others lined up to follow her to jail.
I'm in tears....
But make no mistake!
If this can happen in Florida.....it can happen soon! in California, Tennessee, Iowa, Colorado....your state....all of your states.
If we allow this to happen......be afraid, be very afraid!
I sure as hell couldn't be a cop.
Kalistan is right behind you.
Too bad they can't gather enough people to tie up the cop's attention while a few get through with water.
It used to be that when a feeding tube was removed the hospital was required to offer food and water once a day in the faint hope that the victim patient would be able to survive.
Not anymore. It interferes with the murder under color of authority.
I used the analogy of a petri dish as I was a biologist for many years. I have lived in the mid-Atlantic region, the deep South, and in the Southwest. Except for the "rebound" of undesirable people back to areas in middle-America they rushed across in their haste to get to California, the Southwest has my vote. Also, I might add there is no such thing as a "Great American City" in terms of family values or morality.

Hey, You forgot to mention all Us nasty Rednecks!
We sure are overcrowded, but not with Floridians.
I know, but I can't live in the southwest. I had a heat stroke there when I was young. During those awful hot, dry days, I would be dependent on air conditioning and have to stay indoors. Maybe up in the mountains would work.
I've lived in Florida for 49 years. I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. If others would like to stay out, that would be OK with me.
