The House plans to vote just after midnight. Been working all weekend. I, too, put this on the back burner, I have to confess.
I forced myself to stay away from the threads. "So much more important here. So much more important there."
But when the nation rallied, I came to her call. I worked hard, this weekend, too, at risk to my health. [Unusual heart, lung condition, along with thyroid. Using a nebulizer right now].
We are literally swamped with rat-fires to put out. I had time before. With all my time off from work, only now did I focus on "the little flower", Terri. I hope you can forgive me, as well as our nation's leaders.
FReegards....
oh enlightened one, I do know that... and if they do not validate that hope, they aren't getting any more of my money.
I'm smarter than your average dog... I just telepathically communicate with my owner and she does it for me.
Ok so why doesn't our REPUBLICAN governor Bush order the National Guard to take Greer into custody for breaking state laws in issuing this decree? Also for flouting the subpoena issued by Congress? They have the power to act, they just don't want to offend anyone. Time for that is over, long ago. If you are worried about offending someone more than doing what's right, then you end up with chaos.
I hope I'm wrong too. And yeah, it's pandering at least for some of the RINOS in Washington. But they don't realize that the 'religious right' doesn't buy pandering.
There is no reason for government interference in a private matter. It's time for uninvolved parties to back off and let this situation be taken care of by those people who are directly involved.
I was severely dehydrated after a day of a Gi infection - I can tell you it feels like every inch of your body is being stuck with needles very slowly. If you have ever had pins and needles REALLY bad, imagine that over your entire body. Got me to the ER, I couldn't even stand up anymore. They couldn't get a blood pressure or find a vein in my arm to insert the IV. They ended up using the back of my hand where they could see the vein. Two flasks of lactated ringers' later I went home.
So if my spouse wants to commit suicide I should let him? Or my child? If I let my spouse beat me or my kids, or my dog, for that matter, no one should intervene?
The woman SPOKE on FRIDAY, did you not read? She tried to say "I WAAAAANT [to live]" - in response, they removed the feeding tube. Apparently she didn't finish the sentence, so that means she should die.
There is no way that anything I said would make you think that is what I meant. Hysteria never makes a good argument.
Brilliant thinking. Quit the GOP to join a 3rd party that will NEVER win any notable office, much less the presidency or control of Congress(or even enough seats to wield some power through coalition), and allow the Democrats to once again take control. By your decision to stop fighting, you will once again(ala 1992) empower the Dems, likely giving them a several more seats on and control of (for several more generations) the USSC and the rest of the judiciary, not only ending any momentum and even hope for reducing and eventually eliminating the number of abortions. Likely legalization and expansion of euthenasia. Institutionalized corruption and increased used of hate speech laws to shut down dissent and those who advocate morality. Legalized gay marriage and promotion of such lifestyle, including a subsequent rise in STD's and AIDS deaths.
That's a lot of death there, and by quitting and refusing to use EFFECTIVE means to oppose this(shouting at a CP or LP convention may be self-therapy, but it doesn't get anything done) you become no different than Pontius Pilate and those who you claim are not trying to save Terri.
Exactly parallel, hence the irony.
That's ok. :-) I am feeling kind of under the weather too. I hope you're ok.
I have to leave for work soon, I just hate to be away from the media, but then, it's refreshing too, not to have to think about the evil that is slowly encroaching on our society. I give it fifty years, tops, before we have another Reich-like holocaust in a developed country like the US, or Europe. (and that's if you don't consider the holocaust of abortion that goes on right now).
Hm. Interesting that the less people that join, the less likely it is to win. Funny how that works.
Effective? Talk about irony!
Sure. Someone wants to do something wrong, government shouldn't interfere. Keep it all in the family.
If you can't see that connection ... well I can't cause the blind to see.
I agree with you on some of your points. There are too many regulators with their hands in the pot in Florida, and quite a few are Republicans. Conflict of interest seems to be the norm. The citizens of Florida need to demand a stop to it and until they do I will never travel there. How can I know I will be assured the rights of a US citizen if I become disabled there? The fact that their judges give such credence to heresay, gives them power to do with you as they want.
In fact to avoid the further financing of this mess I am not buying Florida products as of last Friday 10AM PST.
Let me rephrase. That was unclear.
Sure. Someone wants to do something ILLEGAL, government shouldn't interfere. Keep it all in the family.
BINGO! Hearsay testimony from one of the girlfriends who said that Michael said he did not KNOW what terri's wishes were, that they were young and they had never talked about that... for some reason THAT hearsay doesn't count. Nor the hearsay of people that heard loud arguments, nor the bone scan indicating broken bones...
None of that should count, but the hearsay of the man who is in other cases the most likely suspect in any accident involving his spouse SHOULD count?
Occasionally when I try to go to work(15 miles away), my car won't start. Sometimes I can't get to work, despite trying, because the roads haven't been cleared of snow. Wasn't for lack of trying, but sometimes things transpire that are beyond my control.
Each time that happens, I don't cuss out my car and declare that I'll never drive again. You see a car and the road, despite their occasional failings, are the only EFFECTIVE way to get to work. Walking is too slow and a bike is too sweaty/freezing/wet. That's all the realistic choices. Not perfect, but I have to make something happen using less than perfect resources.
Would you have quit being an American after the US lost at Pearl Harbor and numerous battles in the Pacific for more than a year afterwards? Sometimes good people lose the fight, but it doesn't mean they weren't trying. I hope you'll not make any rash decisions, but rather take time to reflect on all this and discuss it with your pastor, etc.
Go buy a new one.
