The Republicans seems to be pandering to the 'religious right.' -- and awfully late in the game. I will have to stay a little longer if they do actually do the right thing here in this Schiavo case. If they don't, I am gone. I understand that means political irrelevancy for a while, at least on a national level, but it's not as if the donations I have given to the Republican party have actually done anything anyway.
I just posted this on another thread regarding the response to Terri VERBALLY pleading for her life:
"She just started yelling, 'I waaaannt, I waaaannt,'" Weller explained.
At that point, police removed Weller from Terri's hospice room and, later, her feeding tube was removed.
Apparently they didn't like Terri's accent. /sarcasm
This is pure unadulterated evil. If the Republicans cannot stop this when they have a majority in both houses, a Republican president, and a republican governor in the state in question, then they are worthless and don't deserve anyone's support anymore. If this woman dies because they got caught up in debate and refused, yes REFUSED to take action, (they have had PLENTY of time for this before now if they even cared) then I for one will not support the party anymore. I just can't. I have been hoping against hope too long. It's Time to pull THE GOP's feeding tube.
I certainly hope he isn't posturing. It needs to be done, this judge was in comtempt of congress and unless congress does something to stop it, their power will continue to errode.
Oh, shut up. The Republicans are her only hope, idiot.
How can you post without thumbs?
The Republicans (not conservatives), are the majority party by a slim margin. They do not "control" anything, except some procedures. When a party is in "control" it has, oh, say an 80 seat majority...like the Democrats did for 40 years.
Re: "Just think where all this would be if the democrats were in charge."
Doesn't seem to be making a whole lot of difference. The argument is wearing thin. Face that fact or see DNC victories in 06.
Maybe then people would wake up.
Oh that is SUCH an exact metaphor.
no thanks.
These people are doing everything they can.
This has been prominent in the news MANY times - they've pulled her feeding tube twice before. Nothing has changed since they gained control in Congress, yet NOW they are coming to her rescue? They sure BETTER do something. But *GOING BY PAST EXPERIENCE* I'm not holding my breath. Terri is *already* in misery. The national guard should have been employed to restrain these monsters who want her to die. Try not eating or drinking for three days and see how you feel. It is callous to keep piddling and whining and dealing with the devil all this time.
Actually, from what I know about this story, is they are killing her. They are not disconnecting a heart-lung machine, a dialysis machine, or some other medical machine that is serving as a replacement for some vital human organ or system. To withhold food from a patient is simply murder.

BWAAHAHAA!
Keep in mind that if it weren't for yourself AND Republicans
NOTHING would have been done.
And get as sophisticated as the RINO's and Dems in Congress? Yeah right.
Sophisticated is closely connected with sophistry. Though that word in turn came from the Greek sophos meaning wise, sophists in classical Greecearound the fourth century BCwere itinerant teachers of philosophy and rhetoric who didnt enjoy a good reputation. They were sceptical about the possibility of achieving genuine knowledge and were thought by many to be more concerned with winning arguments than arriving at the truth. Plato considered them to be a dishonest bunch of lecturers, and sophistry came to mean fallacious reasoning. http://www.worldwidewords.org/topicalwords/tw-sop1.htm
thanks.
I hear ya.
EXACTLY!
A Brief History of the Constitution Party
In 1992 a coalition of independent state parties united to form the U.S. Taxpayers Party with the common goal of limiting the Federal Government to its constitutional boundaries and restoring civil government to the principles our country was founded upon. Some of the state affiliate parties have adopted the national party name while others have adopted or retained a different name. In 1992, the partys presidential candidate, Howard Phillips was on the ballot in 21 states with Albion Knight Jr. as Phillips running mate. In 1995, the party became the fifth political party to be formally recognized by the Federal Election Commission as a national political party. In 1996 the party achieved ballot access in 39 states, with Howard Phillips as its presidential nominee and Constitutional scholar Herb Titus as its vice-presidential nominee.
Constitution Party.
My guess is the judge has been coopted somehow. He's a RINO too.
Ya know, why is it that the third party gets blamed for this kind of thing? People wouldn't run to a third party if the Repubs actually stood for something. Always pass the buck. It's like the kids complaining they have nowhere to sleep when the mom decides to leave the abusive father. It's her fault huh?
