Yes, it is a topic we have discussed previously but it was so much fun last time I thought we could have another go at it.
How does one raise a well-mannered child? Are we well mannered adults, giving our children a good example from which to learn? What are some instances of atrocious manners that you have encountered lately?
Coffee's on!
Good morning, ladies!
Congratulations to FReeper Shotokan, his wife, and their newborn son, Matthew Reagan!
Good morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I thought it was atrocious when the young Albanian man taking the baby's picture thought I was the *grandmother*! I think it's time to color my hair. And then the next person who talked to us thought my father (68) was the kids' dad!
My beloved dog Cheyenne took a bad turn last night. It might just be her arthritis--the vet said to give her some buffered aspirin (none in the house, natch) and wait a few hours. If she doesn't improve, I'll take her in to the vet.
I have had this wonderful pooch since she was a few months old. She is now 14. Her health has been excellent with the exception of the arthritis, which hasn't given her any problems this winter...until now. Last night she stood up and tried to walk out of the room and her legs collapsed beneath her. She tried again and failed, tried and failed. I got her to sit down and massaged her legs, hoping it was just a cramp. After getting a good, thorough rubdown she decided she didn't want to get up after all and went to sleep. This morning she has been falling down all over the place.
I'm off to the store now, I'll try to check back in around noon.
With regard to manners, working in a restaurant has been one scary eye-opener. Yeesh!
Your poor pooch..........I know exactly what you are dealing with, as I am going through the same thing with my Anisette, she's 12 and I've had her since she was 8 weeks old.
I'm sure working in the restaurant has been an unbelievable eye openner when it comes to manners. So many people have no idea how to behave in public.........and I'm not talking about children, either.
Well, picking your nose and eating the results at the dinner table would probably qualify.
I HATE when that happens.
blowing your nose at the dinner table, why can't they excuse themselves and do it in the bathroom,
Eating oysters with the dinner fork. (Always in poor taste . . . plus you go to Episcopalian Hell.)
Yikes...............even in my own house I excuse myself from the table to blow my nose - and our 6yo has been taught the same thing.
Who can afford oysters?
I whole heartedly agree. I am a stickler about manners and being polite, and my daughter knows it.
without getting into a discussion of homeschool vs non-homeschool, I can say my daughter is frequently complimented about her manners, and she is not homeschooled.
Enjoy your trip to the library.

Ohhhh Myyy Gawdd... You need to learn a thing or two.
After you pick you nose you wipe the boogers under the table.
Now go stand in the corned if you don't want a spanking !!!! ;-))
I cna, I can!!!!
$30 a half bushel.
Gripe gripe gripe.
LOL!!!!!!!!!
And that reminds me - I need to pick some up this weekend before they stop harvesting them.
Why should I let the dog have all the treats???
