Cool, thanks. Too bad I have a whole different life now - that would be fun. I'll be watching THAT closely. I hope they get it right. It's hard to find good dancing in movies. Dirty Dancing drove me nuts because the Jennifer Grey character was taught to do Mambo on her toes. Wrong, wrong, wrong. You ruin that great, sexy, earthy body movement of Cuban Motion that way. Gotta dance *into the floor.

On the other hand, Dance With Me with Vanessa Williams was terrific. A minor character was played by Liz Curtis, former seven-time Latin dance champion, and she did tech consulting on the movie as well. The "bad boy", Ruby's ex, was played by Rick Valenzuela, another former national competitor, and he acted pretty well. Most of the couples were real dancers, and the blonde actress from Allie McBeal did a beautiful job.

But, wow. Vanessa Williams can flat-out dance. I was very impressed with how she picked up on the particular sharp, fast-paced Latin style.

As you can tell, I have no opinions on this! :-)

Here's the rest of the info on that dancing show. The name of it is "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?".

It is a joint production between American Idol, American Bandstand and the American Music Awards.

It was created by Idol producers, Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe and comes from 19 TV Ltd. and Dick Clark productions. It is executive-produced by Simon Fuller, Nigel Lythgoe and Allen Shapiro.

So it's another 19 Entertainment Production.

It's sure got some power names involved, that's for sure.

Someone who said he worked as a cameraman for the New York audition said that they were sending to Hollywood, all sorts of dancers, from classical and ballet to hip hop and jazz.

It also says that Fox may air it as early as the fall. I couldn't find anything about judges or voting stuff though.

As I commented to you just a second ago, I'm fascinated with other people's talents. I didn't know Jennifer Grey was doing that dance wrong.

But I do love that sexy Latin dance stuff. I agree with you about Vanessa Williams. She definitely can dance!

Vanessa Williams is a major talent. Her singing voice is beautiful - so clear, like a bell.

There IS good talent out there and AI is a showcase for new singers. It is a good way to find them.
