I don't know why the animosity towards Vonzelle. She as sweet, pretty, had a great voice and a great personality. Carrie has a great voice, but come one guys, a bit short on the personality. The fact is they're all good and will all have careers. But this negative stuff about all of the black women finalists is just...well...you know.
No animosity towards Vonzelle from me. I think she is gorgeous & seems very sweet. But, I made the mistake of just listening to her perform last night ( I did this will all three) and it sounded really bad. I was giving her a pass due to her looks.
I don't think it's animosity toward Vonzell. I'm glad she made the top 5. She seems like a nice girl and I'm happy for her.
But I just don't think she has the "pipes" to be in the finals and I think most of us here agree.
We're more celebrating Carrie in the finals than Vonzie's departure.
V is more undeveloped voice wise. Like a car with the gas pedal stuck full on.
I agree with you, she's a babe, nice girl and all. I think her style of voice is Broadway though and would not be able to make a successful popular record.
It's not even about her being black, Hildy.
I adore Vonzell and am confident we haven't seen the last of her. Especially us here in South Florida. :-D
That said, I hung my hat on Bo from practically Day One - so I'm happy he's moving to the final two.
I liked Nadia a lot better than Vonzell.
She's a babe in any color. If I were to date woman like her, I wouldn't be unhappy at all, and I don't happen to be black.
I do appreciate women of all color though! :-)
I'm going to pretend that you're not serious. I'm having a great time.....this is a really fun thread.....and Carrie was my choice from day one. And...the Mavericks are winning!
I'm in your corner 100% on this.
Jesse Jackson, is that you? Fantasia on "Summertime," Jennifer Hudson on "Circle of Life," Latoya London's "All By Myself," Tamyra Gray on "Minnie the Moocher" and "House is not a Home"-- all easily better than anything from Vonz this year.
I'm with you. What I don't understand is that while Vonzelle has been inconsistent, and tends to over-sing when she gets lost, people around here say she's "screaming" even on the songs when she is perfectly, 100% in control and just displaying good power and support.
Then, there are all of the Fantasia comparisons, which are ridiculous; 1) their vocal styles are not even close to the same thing, and 2) Vonzelle appears to be a sweet, nice, family girl while Fantasia ("Baby mama") has basically done everything but wear a "Proud To Be A Ho" t-shirt. The only similarity I see between the two of them is their skin color.
