Terrific job on this thread, silent jonny. Hats off and kudos, I know what a demanding job it is.

I did not watch last night or record the show but it's good to see pictures here of Carrie standing next to that Federov kid. They look great together and seem to have real chemistry. They'll make a lot of sweeet music together in the coming years and with the pressure of competition lifted, they'll probably be sensational.

I don't buy that she won by 10 million votes....that is very unrealistic.

When you consider the half billion total votes,
that's a small percentage.

I think the 1/2 billion was the total for the whole season.

Each week usually there were around 25 million or so votes..There would be lots more for the finale, I'm thinking maybe 50+ million? Not sure why they don't release the numbers.

That is such a sad state of commentary on our society. We can't get 50% of the electorate out for presidential elections, but half a billion votes for this stupid show.

She wants to be an actress, from what she said after she was voted off.

Hm. Well, perhaps Mikala could become a comedic actress ... if someone could teach her how to be funny ... she does have an "outward" personality! But I sure hope she transitions away from singing. I've only heard her sing twice now - once the night she left AI and then again last night - and it was a train wreck each time. I am astounded that she ever got into the Top 10. (And WHAT did she do to her hair? I guess she's trying to look less Nannyish, but she was much prettier with the natural dark hair.)

If you could legally ballot stuff elections like you can for AI voting, we'd have "voter turnout" of at least 10,000%.

Not really. You have 3 lines (plus text messaging) and 4 hours to vote and you have lots of people who had never voted before who voted. They can vote repeatedly. It's easy to rack up millions and millions of votes in that time. You just call, hear the first part of the recording and hang up.

Ya know... I was just thinking, given how easy it is to ballot stuff... wouldn't the most efficient way of voting, if you think it's going to be close, be to call for the other person, and just not hang up right away, but continue to tie up the line so other people can't get through?

Carrie and Anthony told a radio station that she won by 4%. The 10M must be her totals for the season versus his, right?

Well, it's not one person, one vote.

I bet the line disconnects after the message is over, but yeah, it might make a difference.

For Your Eyes Only (and the thousands who read this thread:

Now it can be told. I knew yesterday morning that Carrie would be the winner! My basement wall told me. There's a wet spot that dried out and had letters on it in that white stuff (limestone residue?) that seeps thru concrete block.

It said "IDOL" on the first line; second and third line were a series of "C's" for Carrie. Don't believe me? I am going to take a photo with my digital and try to post it.

And yes, I am certifiable.

Not only that but a lot of the votes probably came from people, that are too young to vote in elections.

That negativity takes its toll and may even have played a factor in his illness earlier this week. The negativity toward him on this thread actually made me ill so I can't imagine the pressure he's been feeling.

I would imagine Scott Savol would know what its like! :)

RE: Negativity

I don't think anyone got it worse on this thread than Constantine.
