It's more like a week isn't it?

Yeah, I was being sarcastic. But the way the show is edited, it looks like the nanny swoops in, fixes the family, and swoops out, like Mary Poppins with her flying umbrella.

You are right about a highly public and showy wedding between Carrie and Anthony if they get married. I agree.

My post was about the runaway bride and her fiance. My fault you got confused, I'm sorry. :)

Cool, thanks. Too bad I have a whole different life now - that would be fun. I'll be watching THAT closely. I hope they get it right. It's hard to find good dancing in movies. Dirty Dancing drove me nuts because the Jennifer Grey character was taught to do Mambo on her toes. Wrong, wrong, wrong. You ruin that great, sexy, earthy body movement of Cuban Motion that way. Gotta dance *into the floor.

On the other hand, Dance With Me with Vanessa Williams was terrific. A minor character was played by Liz Curtis, former seven-time Latin dance champion, and she did tech consulting on the movie as well. The "bad boy", Ruby's ex, was played by Rick Valenzuela, another former national competitor, and he acted pretty well. Most of the couples were real dancers, and the blonde actress from Allie McBeal did a beautiful job.

But, wow. Vanessa Williams can flat-out dance. I was very impressed with how she picked up on the particular sharp, fast-paced Latin style.

As you can tell, I have no opinions on this! :-)

Me too! But I don't know about a sped-up version of her "Alone". I thought it was great just the way she performed it.

It drags too much for a song of this decade. This guy tried to turn it into a dance remix (the same guy who had a hit with a remix of Since U Been Gone-- Kelly's recent hit), but it just was too slow to work with. But, you could really appreciate the potential of it. I'm telling you, this dance remix of Carrie doing Alone (the sped up version) would be smoking hot.

I also think that such a thing is what Simon had in his head when she sang it and he made his prediction about her. Take Martina McBride (Carrie) and add in the Black Eyed Peas. It would be totally unlike anything out there today. It could get airplay on thousands and thousands of radio stations.

Paula would be a great judge for that show.

I suspect Paula's gonna be too busy with court and rehab to judge another show :-P

Wow. I had noticed your tagline Net, but I didn't see your homepage.

I don't know what to say. That shocks me. Someone has a short fuse and it's not you.

Wow.

Mary Poppins with her flying umbrella.

Yes! Has anyone tried any of their techniques?

Hi, Jonny. I'm one of those West Coasters that decided to come on the thread to see who won before watching the show. I just got back from going to the vet and doing some shopping. It's 8:40pm here and AI is being recorded on my digital cable box as I write this.

I wanted to know in advance who won. If you caught my post earlier where I said that Simon, Paula and Randy were out on all the entertainment shows saying they thought Carrie would win, that was my tip off that she did, in fact win. I just wanted to come on here and make sure, because I probably won't watch the show tonight. By the time the dogs are fed and I get ready for bed, it will be pretty late.

Thank you SO much for this great thread. It's been a real joy all season even though I couldn't post on it as often as I would have liked to do.

BTW, for the reasons I mentioned early this morning, I am glad Bo lost. Now he's free to do his own music instead of those cheesey songs that were obviously written for Carrie. I only hope she finds her own way to be true to her natural style like Kelly and Clay did before her.

Yeah, but I was talking to you about Anthony and Carrie and to Net about Jen and John.

So they all blended together, but I was talking to you about Carrie and Anthy Bear!

The rumor is that she could be dumped for Debbie Gibson.

I'll be back in just a bit. BTW, Howard Stern has that loser Corey Clark on.

No, I don't watch Howard, I just skimmed channels real quick.

I've got to go get my daughter, so I'll respond to any posts in a while.

Tammy

The show isn't rigged. The voting is real, but the producers control so much of how the voters end up voting. They gave Bo crap to work with last night on purpose. Simon was talking about how that Bo looked uncomfortable in front of so many people at the Kodak, like he got stage fright or something. No one believes that. It's Barbra Streisand.

But, Simon says it because he wants to mask the real reason. Bo didn't have a song like "Angels Brought Me Here." That song was a #1 smash hit for the Australian Pop Idol Guy Sebastian. AI knew it was a hit song. Who did they give the hit song to? Why, the person they wanted to win the most votes, of course. And, that's what happened. They look at themselves as the puppetmasters. We dance for their pleasure.

Debbie Gibson! What has she been doing for the past two decades?

I think they need at least one young judge...under 30.

Thank you! Your thoughtful, well written and often funny(!) posts have been a valued addition to this thread, as have you :)

I know just yesterday I said I hoped Bo would win, but seeing Carrie tonight ... She's the right choice. Bo can take care of himself and will be able to take full advantage of what Idol has (and will) offer him.

But Carrie needed this win. She'll be a great Idol.

Whoa, really??? Debbie would be a good replacement, but I don't know if the show could survive the change.
